Job description

The Web Content Editor provides oversight of Ace’s primary communication channels, including ACENET, Ace Online and the Vendors Portal. The individual is responsible for the planning, scheduling, editing and posting content to the websites, ensuring strategic company priorities are clearly communicated to the appropriate audience at the appropriate time.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as overall editor for Ace’s three key communication platforms – ACENET, Ace Online and Vendors Portal. This individual will serve as the gatekeeper to ensure the information posted is relevant, timely and fits into the organization’s overall communication strategy. In addition, this individual will be charged with ensuring all articles have a consistent voice and adhere to established best practices and standards. 
  • Maintain the organization’s Editorial Calendar and manage the Corporate Communications inbox system. Take a lead role in scheduling articles across all sites to ensure optimal quantity and quality of content.
  • Create, edit and distribute daily emails to Ace retailers highlighting key Ace news headlines, alerts and action items.
  • Create, edit and distribute weekly emails to Ace employees highlighting key news headlines and action items.
  • Evaluate article performance through a continual examination of metrics and make content and/or design recommendations based on the data.
  • Create, edit and distribute additional company-wide emails as needed.

What you need to succeed

  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Understanding of and experience with various communications channels ranging from Intranet portals and email newsletters to internal social media tools and video
  • Experience posting content online using a Content Management System
  • Familiarity with web design and development principles
  • Understanding of multimedia content development
  • Familiarity with core principles of SEO
  • Familiarity with AP Style
  • Nimble writing and strategic communications skills to communicate a range of different topics to a variety of internal audiences
  • Retail/Wholesale business experience a plus
  • Basic graphic design experience is a plus
  • Takes the initiative, can work independently, has good problem-solving skills, and builds strong working relationships.
