Your Responsibilities

User Experience (UX) is made up of many roles, from design to research, to engineering. Crafting a better experience for users is at the heart of everything we do. We care about those linked to the land and want to help them get their work done in the most efficient way possible.

As a User Experience Writer for the Client's Intelligent Solutions Group, you will be responsible for maintaining a consistent tone of voice in our interfaces, messaging to the users, and collaborating with designers and design leads in their work. You will become familiar with how the user thinks, and how to make tasks as easy to understand, so they can get on their way.

In addition, you will:

  • Be a champion of our tone of voice, crafting interface wording, communication and microcopy throughout our tools that is clear, concise, and accessible
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Research to test, message, and gauge user understanding.
  • Become part of our QA process, ensuring designs that are headed to production are as clearly worded as possible, and free of jargon and technical language.
  • Create and maintain communication documentation for others to reference while designing and building
  • Follow a proper user-centered design methodology of building, testing and learning, to iterate interfaces and flows to the best quality possible.

What Skills You Need

  • 2 or more years of experience following brand standards around the tone of voice and communication style
  • 2 or more years of experience with UI-focused tools on web and mobile: We use Sketch (Figma and XD skills are great, too)
  • 2 or more years of experience working with a content team, UX group, or product teams

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Demonstrated skill in managing multiple projects, including communication, project planning and time management
  • Experience with data visualization, or using content to help build a better visual communication
  • Experience with editing, developing a content strategy, and using plain language
  • Proven attention to detail and consistency in design patterns or copywriting
  • High comfort levels with prototyping tools, user flows, storyboards and/or existing research to provide insights to design ahead of high-fidelity design delivery

Education (or equivalent work experience)

Ideally, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Content Strategy, Marketing or similar degree or experience
