Job description

Alpenrose Dairy, a 100-year-old iconic Portland brand, is looking for Content Marketing Specialist. 

Join us to help our community discover the joy of home delivery! We have just launched our home delivery service for Alpenrose dairy products, weekly grocery staples, and Portland-centric northwest specialties. We are looking for a savvy content marketing specialist to help spread the word and build the community.

Top candidates will be well-versed in content marketing activities to encourage customer engagement including email marketing, social media, and graphics management. Ideal candidates will have experience (or high capacity to learn!) in digital advertising, website usability, product marketing, and analytics.

The content marketing specialist will take a lead role in day-to-day marketing activities related to Alpenrose, while working closely with the in-house marketing team that serves both Alpenrose and Smith Brothers Farms home delivery. This position resides in Alpenrose’s iconic Shattuck Road property, and reports to the Senior Marketing Manager. In this role, you will work closely with the centralized marketing team, as well as Alpenrose business leaders.

Some of the areas of daily responsibility are: 

  • Social content – writing, scheduling, posting, and monitoring
  • Website Content – writing including blog posts, product descriptions, and managing images
  • Email marketing – write, design, and schedule promotional emails for customers
  • AlpenNews publication – our recurring customer engagement printed flyer
  • Digital advertising – provide insight and content for digital marketing programs
  • Basic graphic design – manipulate images for email, social and website
  • Photography – occasionally produce product and/or lifestyle images
  • Reporting and analysis – Google Analytics, Data Studio, MS Excel

Tools we use:

  • Mailchimp for email marketing
  • Later for social media scheduling and monitoring
  • Adobe Creative Cloud – primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • MS Office – primarily Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Google Analytics for reporting

Qualifications needed to be successful: 

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.
  • At least 3 years experience in content marketing, social media management, or related marketing focus.
  • Amazing organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
  • Optimistic outlook & get it done attitude with a large dose of humor on the side is required.
