Job description

Are you passionate about bringing people together and building inspiring, memorable experiences? We are seeking an accomplished and highly creative Copy Editor for the Amazon Seller Events Team. The Copy Editor for the Seller Events team will help develop public-facing, engaging content for a variety of channels.

The successful candidate will become an expert in Amazon sellers, brand strategy, style guidelines, and will oversee copy-based content creation to ensure that all of the copy is on brand, is written in the Amazon voice, is accurate to our programs and messaging, and is grammatically correct. The person in this role will also have project management responsibilities including copy asset creation, reviews and revisions, timelines, and final deliverables. This role will support content needs of multiple creative teams, communication channels, and product lines.

In this role you will copy-edit blog posts, announcements, seller stories, and subtitles in videos. You will proofread text and correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors, as well as verify factual correctness of information. Checking text for style, readability, and adherence to brand voice and style guidelines and rewriting text to improve clarity and readability.

Key job responsibilities

  • Copy-edit session materials, including PowerPoint presentations, titles/abstracts, etc to meet high quality bar
  • Ensure correct and consistent use of Amazon style, branding, service/naming conventions, and legal and messaging requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other editors, managers, speakers, and creators
  • Work directly with speakers on last-minute changes in high-pressure environments
  • Responsible for developing and administering the content editorial workflow, from submission to final asset delivery
  • Manage and update content resources, including, but not limited to, web copy, training materials, and procedural documents

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, or Communications or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a copy editor or a senior writer in a media, agency or corporate setting
  • Copy-editing and proofreading experience
  • Experience working in PowerPoint, addressing layout/formatting needs, or equivalent
  • Comfortable tackling multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced dynamic environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience with content marketing and multimedia storytelling, familiarity with various digital media genres and platforms
  • Proficient grammar and rewriting skills
  • A proactive attitude and a focus on resolving problems and delivering high-quality result
  • Experience editing event content
  • Demonstrated customer-service orientation and creativity in problem solving
