Job description

Are you a versatile, analytical problem solver? Can you communicate complex and technical business concepts in appealing online help content? Amazon's Advertising Support & Operations team is looking for a Content Strategist to create and maintain concise content that educates Advertisers of all levels of expertise about Amazon Ads’ products and features. You create content that is helpful and easy to find, and allows users to answer their own questions. You are innovative, results-oriented, and you work backwards from advertiser feedback, user research and call center support cases to identify problem areas and propose inventive solutions that assist advertisers with troubleshooting, completing workflows, and learning key advertising concepts. You care as much about good writing as you do about measuring and delivering results, and you let your learnings evolve the way you approach your work.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work backwards from Advertisers and user research and partner with product owners to create highly effective online help content.
  • Understand Advertiser needs and are empathetic to their business and strategic goals.
  • Monitor performance and results against key metrics, and make targeted improvements.
  • Improve metrics and content development processes using data analysis.
  • Proactively seek to become an expert in the features, workflows, and processes in assigned domain.
  • Effectively manage several complex projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.
  • Communicate project status to leadership and stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Perform scheduled audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct peer reviews and UAT.
  • Follow team style guidelines and identify opportunities to improve content development processes/tools.
  • Work efficiently with partner localization/translation team.
  • Facilitate sign-off from Product, Legal, and Public Relations business partners.
  • Use sound judgment to make quick decisions under pressure in ambiguous circumstances, balancing advocacy with action.

A day in the life

You'll plan and strategize content to execute over a long period of time, manage schedules, deadlines, and organize tactics.

Being able to put yourself in the user's shoes, and understand their pain points, goals and journey is crucial. You need to think from the perspective of the business, and different stakeholders. You also need to have a data-driven mindset and enjoy analyzing and interpreting data.

Connecting the dots between seemingly disparate things is a big part of content strategy. You will collaborate with stakeholders, present data and create content that has an engaging narrative and resonates with audience objectives.
