Live Sports content marketing manager to lead the strategy and development of Amazon Ads’ Thursday Night Football customer-facing content and marketplace positioning
In this exciting new role, you will be part of the Integrated Marketing team and help Amazon Ads redefine the future of sports media. The Integrated Marketing team serves as the “quarterback” to lead high priority, complex, and strategic initiatives across cross-org teams. In this highly visible role, you will partner with stakeholders to develop and deliver cohesive and impactful go-to-market (GTM) sales, marketing, and editorial content for Thursday Night Football with the potential to expand to additional key customer-facing Live Sports programs.
We are looking for an accomplished Live Sports B2B marketer (preferably with NFL experience) to drive our content strategy and partner with teams across the organization from sales, brand and industry marketing, events, programming, and production, to legal and PR, to ensure there’s awareness, coordination, and alignment in developing best-in-class Live Sports content. This candidate should have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships, lead cross-functional teams, and influence stakeholders at all levels. You will have a strategic mindset and the ability to get in the weeds to execute at the tactical level and keep the trains running on time. This candidate will have familiarity with the media industry and understand the nuances of Live Sports to build and execute a roadmap of content deliverables that position Thursday Night Football and Amazon’s Sports offerings to the advertising marketplace. This role will oversee the GTM strategy for our Live Sports portfolio, working with stakeholders to deliver product positioning, pitch decks, measurement reports, and other customer-facing sales collateral while also providing input to editorial and brand marketing teams to develop direct-to-customer activations. They will systematically gain input and alignment from cross-org teams, remove any roadblocks, drive strong internal communications and relentlessly focus on the customer experience. The candidate should have a keen eye for design and robust experience with brand storytelling, as well as high attention to detail.
The right candidate will have a strong sports media and/or marketing background and a deep understanding of how to effectively position media properties to sports marketing decision-makers. Experience working with product, measurement, and sales to craft storytelling narratives is key. This role will work closely with Amazon Ads’ editorial team to extend the brand narrative to editorial content published for Amazon Ads’ owned channels, including its website, and social and email marketing. Experience with video creation is preferred. This role requires a self-starter who is results-oriented and pushes to uphold the highest standard on all elements of execution. You will be comfortable with immense ambiguity and have the ability to simplify the complex. and be passionate about leading complex workstreams to execute long-term strategies from start to finish.
