We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Marketing Specialist II on our Publishing and Mission Operations team. This position can be hybrid (working from both office and home), with a schedule to be determined by business needs.

As a Marketing Specialist II, you will be responsible for the day-to-day writing, editing, creation and optimization of both social media and content marketing efforts to grow AMA Ed Hub social channels and content marketing offerings while meeting assigned goals. Reporting to the Education Center Marketing Director, this role will write social posts, coordinate social engagement efforts and support the creation and distribution of content marketing pieces while ensuring their relevancy and discoverability to specific audience segments. Monitor and analyze content marketing performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Social Media and Social Community Engagement 

  • Write, edit and coordinate the execution of the social media manual, and weekly and ad hoc posts to promote Ed Hub education while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Ensures that all written content marketing pieces use correct syntax and are free of spelling or grammatical errors and follow AMA AP style.
  • Daily monitor of accurate deployment of all posts. Coordinate resolution of possible issues.
  • Engage with and activate AMA Ed Hub social influencers, monitor users’ engagement/comments and, when appropriate, address comments in accordance with AMA Ed Hub guidelines.
  • Support the creation of social assets for use by influencers and other content providers while ensuring alignment with marketing editorial calendar, marketing plan, and business unit objectives.
  • Assist marketing team in actively engaging social audience around key virtual events/webinars and speaking opportunities involving AMA Ed Hub.

Execution of content marketing efforts 

  • Assist with day-to-day digital content marketing projects including writing and/or editing AMA Ed Hub articles and other marketing pages, infographics, short promo videos etc.
  • Coordinate distribution and promotion of content marketing pieces across AMA and Ed Hub channels
  • Responsible for conducting content marketing audits and governance/oversight, including cross-checking, quality assurance, and version control on website content and other microsites
  • Assist in editing guidelines for the marketing team
  • Review content assets for brand consistency, accurateness, voice and tone, and audience targeting
  • Assists with writing copy, producing and minor editing of content for videos, podcasts, social media, and promotional kits
  • Leverage search engine optimization techniques to ensure, optimal KPIs performance

Analytics and Reporting

  • Utilize approved UTM structure across social and content marketing pieces to ensure proper conversion attribution.
  • Monitor performance of manual social media and engagement efforts (including content/topics, visuals/messaging, audio/video posts), to optimize engagement results and grow channels.
  • Report monthly, and campaign-based performance of social media programming.

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required, in marketing, journalism or communications preferred or equivalent experience
  2. Minimum of 3+ years of experience with content publishing, writing and editing for the web, and content management required. Must have strong editorial skills and content publishing experience or experience with publishing content in a comparable enterprise content management system.
  3. Proven experience with project management is required.
  4. Knowledge of content strategy, search engine optimization, digital marketing, content design and UX principles and technical skills in working within a content management system.
  5. Experience with Google Analytics, social platforms, HTML, Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite.
  6. Ability to think conceptually and create cross-links with related content across the website and familiarity with print and digital communications integration. 
  7. Demonstrated experience upholding brand standards and editing to AP style.
  8. Experience working with cross-functional teams, external agencies, and business unit stakeholders required
  9. Detail-oriented, versatile and creative professional with excellent organizational skills.
