Apex Systems is now seeking a Senior Technical Writer to join one of our top clients. This is a fully remote, 6+ month, W2 contract opportunity. Qualified candidates will have 7+ years of working experience and also have experience working with Adobe, JavaScript, and Oracle. The main function of a technical writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
  • Edit, standardize or make changes to material prepared by other writers or establishment personnel.
  • Confer with the client to establish technical specifications and to determine the subject material to be developed for publication.

Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
  • Basic mentoring skills are necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
  • Knowledge of computer software, such as Adobe, JavaScript, Oracle, etc.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 7+ years of experience required.
