Salary Range:

$92,400.00 - $174,800.00

In this role you will be a lead writer for the AVEVA™ PI Server, the industry leading data historian, and its Data Archive component. You will manage the documentation set, work with Product and R&D stakeholders, coordinate release programs from a writing standpoint, and help bring PI Server documentation into a new era and to new users in a hybrid cloud/on prem environment.

As a Senior Technical Writer with AVEVA, you may own documentation for a specific software product or work within a group of writers to deliver content for one or more related products. You research products and create and curate product documentation that helps our diverse, global audience understand and use our cloud and on-premises software, which powers and provides insight into industrial processes worldwide. You also help maintain standards and advance the evolution of our content through various initiatives and communities of practice to help customer operators, engineers, and developers do their jobs more efficiently.

To succeed in this role, you must be naturally curious and collaborative and enjoy learning and clearly explaining complex enterprise software products. You build effective long-term relationships with team members and SMEs to facilitate information flow and build durable processes for current and future projects. You deliver consistently with minimal supervision and guidance, as part of a collegial and supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project scope, requirements, milestones, and delivery in alignment with business objectives
  • Build productive relationships with product stakeholders 
  • Interview SMEs and create content appropriate for target audience
  • Participate in agile activities to track and share project status
  • Anticipate and escalate issues or blockers
  • Review and edit content to promote consistency and quality, meeting standards and guidelines
  • Rapidly assimilate and master relevant software and tools
  • Plan and deliver complex, multistage projects with assistance from managers and peer writers
  • Collaborate effectively across departments

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and some closely related work experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in English grammar and writing principles
  • Independent problem-solving mentality
  • Technical literacy and ability to quickly understand technical concepts
  • Strong curiosity and desire to learn about technology
  • Focus and attention to detail, and perspective on where and how to apply them
  • Ability to build relationships and channel ongoing access to information
