Our client, a leading enterprise software firm, has a requirement for a Technical Writer.
Initial short contract (3 months) with a view to longer-term engagement.
Duties:
Produce straightforward, useful technical knowledge content in a Product environment;
Work with R&D and other Subject Matter Experts (SME) to identify and plan the technical enablement content required for each product increment. Then obtain and clarify the needed technical details to produce the content;
Mentor content developers to ensure the quality and usefulness of the work for our users;
Continuously improve our technical writing practices, style guides, processes, and other Technical Writing guidelines to ensure we deliver excellent technical enablement documents;
Work in a docs-as-code environment, where documentation and other assets are created and delivered following practices similar to the ones used in software development.
Required qualifications:
3 or more years of writing and editing content for a technical audience (application developers, programmers, system architects, or similar) in a Product environment;
Analytical and inquisitive mindset, with good research, prioritization and exploration skills;
Demonstrated content planning skills
Some software development experience especially with low code application development
Fluency in both written and spoken English;
Copy Editing skills; Outstanding attention to quality and detail;
Identifies opportunities for improvements and takes the initiative with a positive attitude;
Proactive and curious about problems and willing to take responsibility for their solutions;
Eagerness to learn and embrace different challenges.
Preferred experience and qualifications:
Docs-as-Code, Markdown;
Git/GitHub, SVN;
Jira and Confluence;
VIsual Studio Code (as a user);
.Net, OutSystems, or other low code platform knowledge, SQL;
