As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking a content marketing thought leader with a proven ability to create and direct enterprise content strategies. The Content Marketing Lead is primarily responsible for driving the creation, delivery and governance of high-value content. They will serve as the subject matter expert in content for the brand, ensuring best practices are being followed across the team.
The ideal candidate will be an expert content creator with experience coaching and mentoring team members. This position reports directly to the Brand Strategy Lead and will collaborate with the SEO Strategy and Link Building Leads as well as over 30 other marketers, developers and creatives to implement acquisition-focused touch-points for their customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads a team of content writers and editors
Provides training and thought leadership, defining editorial, publication, and reporting best practices
Develops enterprise-level content strategies across multiple mediums with a focus on customer acquisition and brand development
Identifies high-value content opportunities and implements cross-discipline execution of content marketing campaigns
Works closely with Project Management to create repeatable systems to publish, measure and manage content
Researches, recommends and manages tools that support content ideation and creation
REQUIREMENTS
8+ years of direct, work-related experience in content marketing with team management experience
Demonstrated expertise across multiple content disciplines (SEO, UX, Product, etc.) and formats (email, long-form web content, landing pages, product descriptions, video scripts, social media posts, etc.)
Excellent writer and editor with a deep knowledge of AP Style Guidelines
Strong knowledge of effective content development processes, including ideation, execution, promotion and measurement
Knowledge of content KPIs and experience in reporting campaign performance to C-level executives
Proven track record of making strategic recommendations for improvement and reporting on outcomes
Experience defining and working with customer personas, and aligning content to different stages of a customer’s decision journey
Understanding of content organization best practices and effective site architecture
Knowledge of content distribution channels and experience identifying the appropriate channel mix for an asset
Experience training and mentoring writers and editors, as well as identifying talent when hiring new team members
Able to effectively collaborate with various teams and disciplines to contribute to common goals or projects
Experience using content management systems (CMSs) such as WordPress, Squarespace or Wix required; experience with a design system a plus
Ability to effectively prioritize content tasks to help achieve defined goals and identify opportunities to maximize reach
Experience effectively implementing brand guidelines, and aligning a team to a common voice
Strong research skills, including competitive analysis
Knowledge of SEO best practices, including keyword research, preferred
Experience with personalization a plus
A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as English, Marketing, Communications or Journalism is preferred
