Broadridge is hiring. We are looking for our next Technical Writer to work remotely on contract basis! This is a role that will enable you to partner with our WMAP team, producing technical documents, assuring the realization of business benefits and supporting the business process. In this role, you will be collaborating with the WMAP Training/documentation Lead, supporting the WMAP Production Readiness Pillar. The Technical Writer will assist with the creation and maintenance of various types of user documentation, including writing, editing and maintaining key user documents, including but not limited to internal and external user guides, product configuration documents, standard architecture documents, standard operating procedures, Quick reference guides, etc.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, organize, write, and translate product documentation in compliance with the company’s established guidelines and standards, within the requested deadlines, and as set out by the leads.
  • Work with product managers, development leads and subject matter experts to gather project information, analyze documentation requirements, and schedule reasonable delivery deadlines.
  • Prepare charts, graphics, and screen captures to illustrate material.
  • Generate documentation for print and online help.
  • Use of MadCap Flare for writing and editing documentation.
  • Provide writing, editing and design support to other team members.
  • Identify new ways in which Broadridge can deliver effective documentation to its customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, English, Journalism, or another writing-related or Information Systems/Computing-related subject.
  • Alternatively, comparable training in Technical Writing with several years’ experience.
  • +5 years experience working in a technical writer position in the software industry.
  • Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
  • Technical Skills/Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Expertise in MadCap Flare.
  • Experience in technical design, layout and production concepts and practices.
  • Understanding of topic-based writing and ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Strong project management skills is an asset.
  • Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking.
  • Successful candidate must be a reliable team player able to effectively manage multiple deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Software Requirements
  • Proficient in MadCap Flare.
  • Knowledge of XML, HTML, and CSS.
  • Knowledge of SnagIt, MadCap Capture, PaintShop Pro or similar screen capture applications.
  • Knowledge of MadCap Mimic, Adobe Captivate, or similar program is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Knowledge of video tools to produce animations and videos is a plus.
