As Content Strategist, reporting to the President, you will be responsible for writing and editing content for a wide range of mediums for both our internal marketing team and our clients. Ultimately, you will be telling stories in order to convey impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write content for the marketing content calendar for Brook’s marketing channels including blogs, newsletters, articles, whitepapers, social media posts, digital ads and various other marketing materials
  • Help develop high-level donor engagement strategy and content for key decision-makers in the non-profit, healthcare philanthropy, and education development sectors
  • Facilitate content strategy sessions and presentations
  • Keep up with current trends in the philanthropic engagement industry
  • Partner with cross-functional team members including project managers, sales consultants, and customers to design high-quality creative solutions that meet and exceed the requirements of creative briefs
  • Adapt between AP and CP standards
  • Ensure adherence to the brand; be a resource to the team on correct brand use including personality and tone of voice. Appreciate and enhance the good design.
  • Manage, coordinate and oversee the design team’s schedule and project assignments.
  • Review and update published content as needed; Identify gaps in content and recommend new topics.
  • Ensure the process for proofreading and editing written pieces before publication.
  • Conduct search engine optimization (SEO) research to understand clients’ needs.

Qualifications/Attributes:

  • At least 7 years of content writing experience, with experience working in/writing for non-profit organizations preferably healthcare or higher education considered an asset
  • Creative/art direction experience, experience in managing design teams/projects
  • A background in persuasive writing and an affinity for understanding what resonates with donors
  • High EQ
  • Proven experience in strategy development
  • Strong work ethic
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong presentation and verbal and written communication skills
