We’re looking for a Content Strategist

As a Content Strategist, you’ll be the gatekeeper to our editorial calendars and help shape and iterate on strategy for branded content. Contributing across all product lines, you’ll steer our creative efforts in a direction that attracts and retains users, delights and delivers results to clients, and hits internal production goals. 

Through research, performance tracking, competitive analysis, focus groups and conferences, you’ll also be Built In’s internal subject matter expert on the content topics and tech trends our readers actively consume. 

You’ll be joining a team of creatives working together to develop cutting-edge storytelling in support of tech companies big and small. At the highest level, we showcase and celebrate innovative technology, products and thought leaders across the country — and share those stories with the talent a growing tech company needs to thrive. 

We’re on the prowl for a tech-savvy, customer-obsessed and big-picture content strategist with a singular style and a never-ending hunger to do more. We’re growing — fast — and need your help to get us to the next level.  

How you’ll contribute

  • Develop and maintain a robust paid content calendar based on user and market research, with new creative submitted on a weekly basis 
  • Improve user acquisition/retention and client experience through sophisticated editorial strategy
  • Track publication success rates and own the feedback loop around topic and angles
  • Synthesize ongoing research and performance metrics into monthly reports to inform content planning and production 
  • Partner with account-facing teams to develop customer-friendly communications that increase engagement
  • Act as Built In’s in-house expert on technical topics and industry trends 
  • Develop training to educate writers and editors on up-and-coming, hard-to-parse tech topics
  • Do it all with an awesome attitude. We’re a collaborative, easy-going and down-to-earth team who likes to have fun together. There’s no room for ego at our table. 

What you need

  • You should have a minimum of 5 years of producing high-quality, paid content in support of brands.
  • You should have 3+ years of experience in content calendar development or editorial planning, with working knowledge of Google Analytics, competitive analysis and user testing to inform strategy. 
  • You should be enthusiastic about the tech industry and demonstrate higher-than-average technical proficiency.
  • You should be detail-oriented as well as be able to see the big picture.
