Job description
  • Responsible for editing, publishing, proofing, and auditing web content on the corporate website.
  • Validate and ensure final product is high quality, appealing, accurate and effective in presenting information and promoting sales prior to cruise departure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates the day-to-day activities associated with publishing and maintaining web content by managing the priority list containing new content and revisions to existing content.
  • Review, proof, edit, fact check and select images for all new content. Use of HTML to format and load into the Content Management Systems. Proof and confirm that all content published is live and correct.
  • Independently manage (audit, review, proof, edit, approve and publish) NCL.com content including images, descriptions, video and other dynamic content to validate and ensure final product is of high quality, accurate and current.
  • Conduct ongoing site audits including but not limited to booking excursions and other onboard revenue functions. Document, report and/or resolve any issues / inconsistencies on the browsing and bookings sites.
  • Establish guidelines and processes to effectively manage content project goals.
  • Work with E-commerce, shipboard and shoreside content stakeholders and staff to ensure all involved are trained on relevant standards, processes, and procedures to ensure quality, timeliness and consistency. Identify and correct inconsistencies relative to content, placement, and messaging.
  • Ensure web content supporting Product Merchandising, the Booked Guest Experience and Itineraries are consistent throughout the website.
  • Execute build out of Booked Guest Experience (content initiatives such as excursions, amenities, Message Center, QR Code and Digital TV menus) content on website to ensure accurate product is available 24/7 all days of the year for customer browsing and shopping.
  • Provide recommendations to E-commerce about tools used to streamline and automate content management for shore excursion and other onboard revenue information.
  • Perform other job-related functions as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Business Administration or related field; or any equivalent combination of relevant experience and skills.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 yearS of experience in web and/or content for a consumer or publishing company, including content development, copy and image selection. Travel industry, tour operator, and/or cruise line experience is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively communicate with other departments to include all areas of Onboard Revenue and Marketing.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills with the ability to independently manage and execute multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and knowledge of HTML and Photoshop.
  • Preferred familiarity with website design, production/traffic management, and/or e-commerce platforms.
  • Ability to maintain high level of proficiency and understanding of company efforts, programs and policies at all times.
  • Ability to autonomously operate in multiple CMS systems to edit, approve and publish content on corporate website daily.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make independent decisions about workload management to support unpredictable and dynamic projects with very short lead time and quick turnarounds, on time and within budget.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
