Do you love putting pen to paper? Have you found yourself shuddering at a spelling mistake in an email? Do you mentally re-write social media posts from organisations that you follow to make them more engaging? If you have a meticulous eye for detail and a passion for crafting user-friendly copy that’s clear, relatable and on-brand, you might be our new copywriter.
ClearScore is searching for a Copywriter to join our incredible Brand & Comms team. This Copywriter will be creating marketing copy across CRM, content and social media, delivering value to our 12 million users. This is an opportunity to work collaboratively across multiple teams in a highly agile environment to create consistent, engaging copy that will help millions of people make financial decisions that will help them get on in life.
What you’ll be doing:
Reporting into the Senior PR & Communications Manager, the Copywriter will work closely with the Product, Commercial and Brand & Comms teams to translate the benefits of ClearScore’s products and features to our users, through our marketing channels.
You’ll be responsible for:
Working with the Senior PR & Communications Manager and the wider marketing team to research and generate ideas for monthly marketing campaigns.
Translating those plans into killer copy across multiple marketing channels including (but not limiting yourself to) CRM, social media and content.
Working with our Product and Commercial teams to create messaging frameworks that communicate the benefits of brand new and existing features. Using these frameworks, you’ll then ensure consistency in the way that we speak about those features across our marketing channels.
Briefing and sub-editing the work of freelancers.
Developing ClearScore’s tone of voice and educating teams internally on how to use it to ensure brand consistency.
Developing testing plans in collaboration with other teams to better understand the tone and language that resonates with our users.
Supporting the Customer Ops team with macros to ensure a consistent voice across our communications.
What we’re looking for
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
An eye for detail and accuracy – errant apostrophes won’t get past you – but also able to take and act upon critique of your work and give critique to others.
Great stakeholder management – you ask the right questions to get what you need from internal experts and liaise with them to ensure their concerns are met.
A data-driven individual - you don’t just write copy, you use data to support or dispel your assumptions.
Good multi-tasking and prioritisation skills.
Capable of writing to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
A willingness to take on new projects and get stuck in.
Nice To Haves
Experience of A/B testing.
An understanding of SEO principles and the role good copy plays in that.
A passion for psychology and understanding how people tick.
An interest in personal finance is beneficial, but not essential. What’s crucial is your ability to translate complex ideas into copy that inspires positive action.
