Essential Functions 

  • Responsible for creating, editing, and delivering client-facing user materials and in-product help as well as user manuals, help files, quick reference guides, infographics, videos, or other materials all within tight timelines
  • Collaborates closely with the project teams to determine content requirements, providing estimates as needed.
  • Actively works on multiple concurrent projects
  • Partners with domain experts to ensure the technical accuracy of materials
  • Conducts edits of the work of other technical writers
  • Tracks project progress against product development schedule to ensure deliverable deadlines are met. Tracks projects and deliverables in the Technical Publications database
  • Contributes to and follows all technical publications procedures, standards, and style guides
  • Remains informed of current trends, tools, and processes within the technical communications field
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Skills needed to be successful -

  • Ability to understand and translate highly technical information into clear, concise, and logically organized materials
  • Solid understanding of information architecture
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills with an ability to quickly and easily assimilate new product knowledge
  • Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently with the ability to handle concurrent tasks and projects while adhering to project deadlines
  • Knowledge of developing and distributing help for cloud-based applications and writing API documentation is preferred

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communication, Technical Writing or relevant discipline
  • 2 years experience as a technical writer within the computer software industry, including experience in complex writing and with multiple concurrent projects
  • 2 years experience with automated publishing tools.
  • 2 years experience with tools used to create and publish content such as MadCap Flare, Adobe RoboHelp, or similar applications.
  • A basic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript is a plus

 Preferred Experience & Education

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Technical Writing, or relevant discipline
  • Experience in the healthcare software field

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $53,500 to $80,400 for an annual base salary. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay may be above or below this range.

Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds with assistance as part of the office routine
