Associate Content Developer / Technical Writer

Hours: 40/week
Pay: $20/hour
Location: REMOTE - must have own reliable LAPTOP/desktop
Duration: 12+ Month Contract
The Associate Content Developer is a key member of the knowledge management team, producing high quality technical documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. In this role, the Technical Writer works collaboratively with product managers, product marketing and subject matter experts to obtain an in-depth understanding of our products and documentation requirements, analyze existing and potential content, create and maintain information architecture and produce documentation that meets our standards of excellence.
Responsibilities will include:
- Converting technical documentation for end-user instructional consumption.
- Helping design a curriculum or program that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners.
- Selecting and using a variety of techniques to define and sequence technical or instructional content; create consistent output in line with design standards.
- Helping develop instructional materials for internal and external audiences; modify existing instructional materials in line with new product releases.
- Creating and editing technical documentation for end-users.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, or a related field
- 1-3 years of professional technical writing experience or equivalent writing experience
- Ability to learn complex software systems quickly and write clear, concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to convert technical or complex information into easily used and understandable text and illustrations
- Ability to think analytically and conceptually, perform audience and content analysis, and understand the basics of structuring information
- A self-starter with excellent organizational skills who can gracefully manage and prioritize multiple projects and produce quality deliverables on time, with minimal supervision
- Ability to follow and help maintain corporate style and editorial guidelines
