Job description

This is a remote job, is open to candidates based in the state(s) of California, Georgia, Idaho, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida, or Texas, and must have the right to work within the United States.

We're building the future of advertising and are looking for the minds to help us do it.

Darkroom is a digital growth agency building legendary e-commerce companies and digital experiences. We are a team of industry-leading marketers and best-in-class creatives building LA’s fastest-growing marketing agency.

Darkroom is seeking a Content Marketing Manager to spearhead marketing our agency to its target clientele. This person is critical to the success of our internal-marketing department and ultimately elevating the agency at large. You will be the master of Darkroom’s story, and work cross-functionally with our strategy and business development teams to effectively communicate Darkroom’s ethos to our target audiences, from high-level value propositions to compelling product features and business services.

What You Need To Know:

Content Marketing will work hand-in-hand with multiple departments to tell the agency’s story and ultimately, drive revenue growth. Key responsibilities will fall into the following main functions:

  • Darkroom Marketing: Act as the owner of all Darkroom marketing – responsible for the strategy development, implementation, and monitoring of owned content channels including Darkroom’s LinkedIn, customer email marketing, paid search/social ads, organic social, and promotional partnerships. This requires collaborating, developing, and working cross-functionally with our SEO, Email, Web, and Creative department to deliver up-to-date Darkroom content.
  • Darkroom Content Initiatives: You will be spearheading a massive content initiative in close collaboration with the CEO and leading executives. A thorough understanding of educating our target market through photo/video assets, case studies, social/blog posts, and marketing funnels is crucial to your success. Your primary domain here will be twofold: producing and writing. What you’ll bring to life through writing, editing, and distributing will be up to the Darkroom standard: meaning, it will be the best source on the web.
  • Darkroom Co-Branded Initiatives: You will have a heavy hand in developing and spreading the word for Darkroom through the integration of partners into marketing materials. Promoting and evangelizing the Darkroom brand with like-minded partners will be crucial to our success. Think of things like highly detailed case studies, webinars, and sponsorships that are necessary to make this work.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Manage and execute Darkroom’s marketing calendar by creating, editing, and distributing content. Measure and report on KPIs directly tied to revenue growth for Darkroom: new leads, conversions, domain authority, sessions + traffic, email captures, etc.
  • Embed yourself within Darkroom’s larger organization to source materials, portfolio examples, case studies, insights, and other related current information. You should feel comfortable meeting with our department heads to turn client wins into marketable case studies and materials.
  • Plan Darkroom marketing calendar, oversee the production of all written content, and video content, and deploy innovative marketing strategies in the process.
  • Optimize Darkroom’s inbound funnel to increase the volume of traffic to site, case study & services pages, and ultimately convert to leads and clients.
  • Invest in Darkroom’s marketing department to over time build & manage a team, and develop KPIs for the long-term growth of marketing at Darkroom.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in content marketing, including producing case studies, social media management, webinars, and partnerships
  • Experience developing narrative content marketing strategies that can be repurposed on social media, email, and on-site pages.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in storytelling and presentational skills, as demonstrated by a portfolio of authored and edited work. (Including video content)
  • Near-obsessive level of attention to detail when it comes to content, copy, presentation, and the published version of all content (aesthetics, voice, and substance).
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks with multiple team members (internal and external).
  • Ability to complete, measure, and then optimize short-term and long-term goals in a proper manner.
  • Insatiable curiosity and an inability to leave a problem alone until you’ve defined it and unearthed multiple solutions.
  • Growth-minded, humble and roll-up your sleeves mindset, and vision-based.
