A bit about us:

We’re on a mission to change healthcare — how it’s paid for, delivered, experienced. We want to put people center stage, not process or profit. We are guided by a deep belief that every person on Medicare should be treated like we would treat a member of our own family: with loving care and a profound commitment to their health and well-being.

That’s why we’re gathering a whole bunch of smart, big-hearted people to create a new kind of healthcare company — one that combines compassion, health insurance, clinical care, and technology seamlessly.

"We want to partner with people we love for a cause we believe in. Life is short. Join us."

A bit more about this role:

Our Member Experience & Engagement team is entrusted with architecting and executing on key elements of our mission. The team is responsible for ensuring a consistent experience across member touch points while making sure that we deliver on our promise of a coordinated and easy member experience. And that starts with a clear, thoughtful approach to content strategy. Our ability to meaningfully connect with members — wherever they are on their healthcare journey — will drive our success in creating a loved consumer brand unique in the industry.

This role will be responsible for developing both strategy and content for digital member-facing communications — with a specific focus on messaging and conversation design. The Sr. Content Designer will develop member-facing content to support key customer experience metrics like first-contact resolution and next-issue avoidance (i.e., how do we proactively serve members the right content at the right time?). This role will be an amazing opportunity to work at the intersection of customer experience, design, health communication, and technology — the very heart of our strategy.

This position can be based in our Waltham, MA office — or remote. The position will work east coast hours.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Take point on creating and managing content that improves member engagement, user experience, and meets key business objectives.
  • Work cross-functionally: from the product side, the service operations side, and the marketing side of the business
  • Lean on plain language and design principles, data, and research to drive content performance
  • Manage content within content management systems, creating taxonomies, and frameworks for grouping and tagging content
  • Manage large content projects — from content strategy and creation to subject matter expert approvals and maintenance
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders (including business partners, product, technology, data, clinical, etc.) to guarantee materials are appropriate and accurate

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience as a content strategist writing for digital experiences (web, mobile, SMS) — and a little bit of print
  • Writer at heart — skilled at crafting compelling, clear, actionable content
  • Ability to break down and articulate complex information in simple terms
  • Skilled at navigating business partners, subject matter experts, and government regulations
  • Background as a content strategist in the healthcare industry is preferred (experience with Medicare a plus)
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguous situations
  • Comfortable in a metrics-driven environment
  • Portfolio required
  • Cover letter required
