The Content Marketing Specialist will be responsible for delivering best in class content that drives international presence and preference for the Discover Global Network brand. This role will work closely with international marketing, brand and communications team members and the Digital Marketing team to further strengthen content collaboration, synergies and strategies.  Additionally, this person will work with leaders across the organization, Corporate Communications, external vendors/agencies and key stakeholders across payments. 

Leads marketing content messaging strategy that differentiates Discover from competitors while gaining credit for our scale, partnership and technology in the digital, social, and event channels. Focuses on the development of external content including articles, white papers, videos, podcasts, social posts, press releases, and paid efforts. Tests various methods and channels for growing brand presence as well as refining content SEO efforts and metrics.

Responsibilities 

  • Leads content development including briefing agency, content review, on-site and virtual support for video recordings/podcasts, and activation of content via social, website and other channels. Leverages research and tools to create custom programs and marketing materials for Acquirers, large merchants, and issuers to expand the business.
  • Represents the business interest in content, brand, and digital efforts including development and distribution of content and managing related paid media campaigns.
  • Manages business, brand, and legal approvals for content and derivative assets including infographics, social media.
  • Leads efforts to develop integrated content scorecard and quarterly reporting to leadership.
  • Collaborates with Digital Marketing, events team and related agencies to develop effective digital and event-related activation plans.
  • Serves as the Brand and Communications representative on various special cross-functional internal projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications 

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Marketing or related field 
  • 4+ years of experience in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, 6+ years of experience in Marketing, Digital Marketing, or related experience

Preferred Qualifications 

If we had our say, we’d also look for: 

  • 6+ years of experience in Financial Services, Client Services, Digital User Experience, or related experience
  • Experience leading content strategy in a global environment
  • Strong understanding of SEO strategy
  • Storyteller and strong writing skills
  • Payment Services understanding/experience
