About DroneDeploy

We’re the leading drone software provider making commercial drone data accessible to anyone, anywhere. Trusted by users across various industries, we’re transforming how businesses collect, manage, and analyze worksite data. Our user-friendly platform makes it possible for companies of any size to improve their workflows through scalable image processing, data storage, and real-time sharable drone maps and 3D models.

We are committed to a remote-first global work environment that empowers people to innovate, grow professionally, and make meaningful impacts. We’re recognized as the # 1 Best Place to Work in the SF Bay Area and made the Top 200 list of America’s Best Startups. Our employees are creative, driven, and committed to providing our customers with the best drone software in the industry. Our office locations include San Francisco, California, Sydney, Australia, and Auckland, New Zealand.

Did you stumble across the perfect next step in your content marketing career? You just might have... We’re looking for the future MVP of our Content Marketing team – a “deep generalist” who will be instrumental in supercharging our content engine with a blog, social, PR/media, email, and visual content that will directly impact the growth of the company.

You’ll be well known as the strongest writer and storyteller in your professional and social circles. You’re just as comfortable whipping up blogs and media pitches as you are crafting social media posts, video scripts, and nurture emails – you also have a progressive understanding of what works and doesn’t across multiple channels in 2022. And you care less about the Oxford comma than you do create content that educates, entertains, and, most importantly, drives pipeline and revenue.

This is a critical position in a growing team that would be the perfect step-up for someone with big ambition, a bigger voice (written and oral), and a healthy balance of great and terrible ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Conceive, write and publish compelling blogs and customer stories, scroll-stopping social posts, tech-savvy media pitches and bylines, next-level video scripts, and more – you’ll move, adapt and grow as quickly as we do!
  • Live and breathe a content repurposing mindset: your work won’t start and finish on one channel, and you’ll quickly learn how to turn one core piece of content into a dozen or more.
  • Work closely with the Product Marketing, Product, Demand Gen, Go-to-Market, and Social Impact teams to develop new or update existing content to truly move the needle.
  • Manage and grow our social media channels, while developing two-way communication with our audiences.
  • Identify industry and competitor trends, stay up to date with progressive social media and content marketing best practices, and be an internal evangelist for leveraging social media for customer-facing employees.
  • Own the internal newsletter, content calendar, and content submission process.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience developing content that attracts and engages prospective and current customers. B2B SaaS experience would be great, but you’re a convincing writer/marketer so tell us why your e-commerce, journalistic, technical, or other experience is just as valuable!
  • Experience with social media management tools like SproutSocial, HootSuite, and Buffer is a plus, but you’ll learn quickly if not.
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn the media, communications, and PR landscape – especially among top-tier and specialist tech platforms.
  • Extra credit for being able or willing to learn how to jump into video editing software like Premiere Pro and After Effects to bring an idea to life.
  • A passion for drones, robotics, AI, and other emerging tech is a huge plus!
  • Able to work between Monday - Friday, 9 - 5 pm PT
  • Able to work 100% remote if non-SF based. If based in SF, one day a week in the office is recommended
  • Must be able to travel domestically

Don’t have ALL the qualifications or experience listed above? Think you’d be a better fit for a slightly more senior position? We’d still love to hear from you. Apply with a few lines about why our job description is wrong and you’d be the perfect addition. (Pro-tip: include examples of your work… whether a blog, byline, video, or high-performing social post).
