Company Description

Dropbox is now a Virtual First company, which means work outside of an office will be the primary experience for all employees. Being Virtual First also means the location of our employees is targeted but flexible. If “Location Flexible” is listed in the job title of a role, the role can be located in any of the states where Dropbox is authorized to do business.** Some roles (including those which do not have “Location Flexible” in the job title), however, may have to be co-located with their teams in certain locations. Please work with your recruiter and your hiring manager to understand any location constraints of a particular role and to communicate your location preferences. **Dropbox is authorized to do business in many, but not all, states. If you are not located in or able to work from a state where Dropbox is registered, you will not be eligible for employment. Please speak with your recruiter to learn more about where Dropbox is registered.

Team Description

Our Marketing team sets product positioning and strategy, manages product launches, and gathers customer insights. We’re responsible for maximizing our products' potential, in order to delight our users and help Dropbox grow. We partner with teams across the company, including Product, Sales, and Engineering.

Role Description

As a Senior Content Strategist, you will play a crucial role in defining and driving the content strategy for Dropbox’s marketing campaigns and digital experiences. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing compelling customer-centric content across experience.dropbox.com, as well as for acquisition, activation, upsell, and demand-generation programs. What’s most exciting about this role is the breadth of brand storytelling you’ll get to do, including thought-leadership, industry research, customer success stories, and product marketing. You’ll craft unique journeys across our customer segments — for personal consumers, solo-preneurs, small businesses, and mid-market businesses.

We’re looking for someone who combines creativity and strategic thinking, who knows how to connect content and digital experiences directly to business growth objectives. The ideal candidate will help us harness storytellers and creators from within and outside our organization. You will develop and manage a content calendar, including article posts, videos, eBooks, whitepapers, and other marketing initiatives, to ensure we deliver the right content at the right time and that answers customers’ needs. You’ll work within a cross-functional, high-velocity content engine and with teams across the organization to support our marketing and growth goals.

  • Collaborate with digital strategists, data analysts, SEO and on-site search experts, and UX teams to track KPIs, verify our attribution model for tracking engagement to conversion, and draw insights into what’s working and what’s not, optimizing marketing content accordingly
  • Define the content types and topics that maximize audience engagement and exceed revenue contribution targets
  • Partner with integrated marketing campaign and channel managers to identify content needs for use across all experiences and programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business, or relative experience

  • Exceptional storyteller, idea-generator, and audience-centric thinker who also has the analytical abilities to act on insights and apply strategic planning skills to create a long-term vision for the content that’s generated
  • Strong, short-form & long-form writer; media writing experience is a plus
