Ethena is looking for a Content Director to join and help lead our growing content team. 

This role reports directly to the VP of Content and involves a little bit of everything: content organization, editing, managing content feedback from both external and internal sources, project and team management, and more. 

We’re looking for someone with flexibility, and a diverse background of experience. We need someone who has managed teams, big and small, at a high-growth company. Someone who has worked with writers and editors of course, but also product managers, designers and software engineers. We’re growing rapidly, which means you’ve got to be excited about change, and the opportunity to adapt to the ever-evolving priorities that come along with that growth.

We are based in Brooklyn, but the company is fully remote. As long as you can work EST hours and you’re in the US or Canada, your exact location is up to you. 

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Help the VP of Content lead the team that makes our amazing content. 
  • Manage writers and editors and help them create high-quality content that meets our goals
  • Analyze and report on content production to help set goals, budgets and more
  • Monitor content feedback from customers and help produce actionable responses to trends spotted over time
  • Manage our many content processes, to make sure tasks are done on time, and everyone has the resources they need to do great work
  • Manage relationships with vendors and interact with customers when needed
  • Assist the marketing, creative, and product teams, and facilitate communication between them
  • Synthesize legal and industry-expert feedback and research for the content team to make sure everyone is on the same page
  • Help our customers and our company succeed by being nimble and responsive to feedback, thinking about right now and next year
  • Serve as an editor in a pinch, a copywriter in an emergency, an art director if needed--you know what? Just bring all your skills, we’ll use them
  • Help grow the team, mentor writers and editors, and work with the VP of Content to make thoughtful hires that expand our capabilities
  • Stay on top of trends in content design and production, and help lead concept and pitch sessions for new content

What makes a great candidate:

  • 7+ years experience in a content leadership role at a tech, agency, startup or marketing environment
  • Experience juggling stakeholder expectations (and exceeding them)
  • Experience supervising and delegating work within collaborative teams, with a proven ability to provide effective creative feedback on work and help junior talent grow and improve.
  • Versatility! We’re rapidly growing and changing. We’d love to have a content director that can sync with the vision of the content team and Ethena as a whole, but also suggest ways we can grow and improve
  • Great organization skills
  • A mindset open to feedback, it’s a huge part of our culture
  • A lot of companies say a good sense of humor is a plus, but we mean it. Humor is literally baked into our product, one might say it’s a key ingredient!

Valued but not required:

  • Experience with task tracking/ticketing systems like Monday.com, Jira or Trello
  • Experience with Figma
  • Our content takes a lot of shapes. Everyone on the team contributes to video, audio, comic, and text-based media. Any experience you have with any of these mediums is a plus
