Hi there. We’re Ethena, a compliance training platform—with informative, cringe-free content delivered through innovative methods—that actually works. Our training isn’t just a thing people get through, it’s something they actually enjoy (we got the stats to prove it—over 90% positive ratings). We are proud to be a part of the culture at companies like Netflix, Zendesk, and Zoom and are in an exciting phase of growth. Less than a year ago, Ethena announced our $15.5 million series A, and we’re delighted to announce that we’ve raised an additional $30 million Series B to build out Ethena’s best-in-class training solution, further invest in data and analytics, and continue launching impactful compliance products. We’re looking for an execution-oriented storyteller to build our content creation machine that feeds Sales. You’ll be walking into a nascent marketing function, and you’ll get to add structure, process, and resources to scale it. We’ve got amazing stories to tell, and you’ll set up the infrastructure to do exactly that. This role will ultimately report to our future VP of Marketing and will report directly to our CEO in the interim.  

We are based in Brooklyn with EST office hours, but our workforce is fully remote and your personal working hours can be based on your own timezone. All team-wide meetings are scheduled to be inclusive of all U.S./Canada time zones.

What you’ll do

  • Work directly with our CEO.
  • Direct and manage our storytelling. You’ll own the channels of SEO, content marketing, and social. You’ll create content marketing such as executive thought leadership, case studies, ebooks and reports from our proprietary data, blog posts and a newsletter.
  • Manage our social presence on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Own and project manage our content creation calendar.
  • Manage a small team of employees and contractors generating content.
  • You’ll work closely with demand generation and product marketing to ensure that the content you/your team creates reaches the right audience and is performing well.
  • Structure our quarterly advisor updates to ensure our advisors can be Ethena evangelists.
  • Be a hands-on do-er first (with access to our small design team), and a manager second. This role will grow with the team!
  • Connect our story to issues that are top of mind for our prospects and customers.

What makes a great candidate

  • Experience in a high-growth startup. You are building out a function so you need to love working autonomously and have a bias toward action.
  • Amazing at storytelling; you think in outlines and can weave together a few data points to tell a clear story.
  • Previous experience in content marketing or editorial, experience in B2B SaaS, and managing freelancers or employees. Previous experience implementing SEO at a startup including researching search patterns, performing competitive analysis, creating content, optimizing page design, measuring traffic and conversion rates.
  • You need to write – and edit – good :) You don’t need to be a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, but this role will require you to edit the content your team creates and occasionally write your own.
  • Experience with project management and comfort with different task management software.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset — you’re developing the playbook and because you’re initially reporting to the CEO, you need to be relatively autonomous. 
  • Passion for what we’re building here at Ethena.

Bonus points

  • An impeccable sense of humor.
  • You’ve published articles or ghostwritten ones.
  • Experience running social media accounts for a company or brand.
