FloQast is looking for a Technical Writer ready to play a key role in our quickly scaling Engineering department. In this role, you will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders in Engineering; codifying practices, patterns, and core engineering documentation. You’ll be responsible for helping engineering teams present consistent, clear, and well-organized documentation and will also act as a facilitator for individuals looking for answers in our knowledge base. We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about evangelizing technology and is excited by the prospect of working in a high-growth dynamic environment. You’ll play a fundamental role in shaping how Engineering communicates and your work will have a significant impact and visibility.

What you’ll do…

  • Collate process and tooling knowledge across all Engineering teams, with the goal of creating consistent centralized documentation.
  • Develop style guides and organizational patterns and work with engineering teams to produce documentation that conforms to defined standards.
  • Review and verify existing documentation, identify evergreen content and ensure information remains current and accurate.
  • Identify opportunities for documentation creation, and take ownership of extending existing documentation with additional clarifying information when necessary.
  • Manage knowledge management tools; optimizing engagement and usability for individuals and teams.
  • Create Engineering and FloQast specific training materials for use in onboarding or other team processes.
  • Assist in evangelizing practices and process knowledge for internal engineering teams.
  • Any other projects as assigned to help the Company meet its goals.


We’re looking for someone with…

  • 3+ years of experience writing, editing, researching and planning software documentation.
  • Excellent grammar and document design skills, with the ability to create effective information architecture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to translate concepts into written work.
  • Excellent teaching and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to be highly organized and highly motivated in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment; a self-starter.
  • Exposure to development practices and technical concepts and tools, Git, HTML/CSS and at least one high-level programming language (Javascript, Python, Go, Java, Ruby etc.)Experience using static site generators and managing docs as code.
  • Experience with workflows and tooling used by engineering, operations and product teams.
  • Experience working at a comparable B2B, B2C high growth SaaS company.
