The Internal Communications group is responsible for managing content and communications channels that reach all employees. Our Impact:

The Internal Comms Senior Content Editor works closely with the Digital Design & Content Senior Manager and other teammates to help employees understand the mission and business of Freddie Mac. We do it by telling creative and inspiring stories about our company, our people, and the impact of our work. Our internal communications team creates, produces and manages the company-wide internal channels of Freddie Mac, often handling time-sensitive and confidential information. A successful candidate will help drive communications to employees through a variety of channels including intranet, email, executive communications, live events, webinars, podcasts and more.

Your Impact:

We are looking for a creative, decisive, flexible and detail-oriented person who can drive for results. Duties include:

  • Editing all company-wide communications (articles, digital signage, newsletters, etc.) for style, grammar, ease of reading and adherence to our layout guidelines
  • Managing the internal Editorial Calendar and working with writers and designers on deadlines and deliverables
  • Managing the analytics for our internal channels and using that data to suggest changes, improvements and new tactics
  • Working with the PR team to curate external news for our internal channels. Drafting content that translates the external content in an interesting and meaningful way for employees
  • Serving as a backup for creating and sending morning news emails to all employees, daily digital signage review, and daily morning quality check of the homepage
  • Other duties may include managing employee feedback, coordinating the review process for specific deliverables, supporting corporate events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, marketing or other equivalent and 5-7 years of related experience
  • Excellent editing and writing skills
  • AP Style
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Outlook and SharePoint

  • Strong organizational skills and flexibility. The ability to adapt to change quickly and to take on unfamiliar tasks and requests with a positive attitude and resourcefulness.
  • Creative and attentive editor who can convey a lot with a small number of words
  • Ability to balance a constantly changing editorial calendar with shifting deadlines and deliverables and make connections with writers to adjust as needed
  • Collaborative with the ability to take direction
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to edit quickly for urgent communications
  • Ability to learn and adhere to our corporate style guidelines in addition to AP style
