Job description
GDIT is looking for a Technical Writer for the USCENTCOM CITS Program in Tampa, FL. The appropriate candidate will produce professional technical and contractual documentation across the program.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Develops, updates, and maintains technical documentation, user guides, and how-to materials to assist users across the CITS Enterprise
- Creates staff packages and provides documentation including white papers, information papers, decision papers, point papers, PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, databases, SharePoint, training packages, policy, and guidance within DoD policy to facilitate USCENTCOM objectives and intent
- Creates Deliverables for contractual purposes, assists with editing and professionalizing management and engineering documents, technical reports, help documents, Quick Reference Guides (QRGs), Technical Portal User Guides, and administrative guides and documents
- Documents the results of cyber and hardware testing and other technical reports
- Organizes and presents technical information in a clear and concise manner, tailored to the intended audience (developers, end-users, stakeholders, etc.)
- Ensures documentation adheres to established style guides, standards, and templates, and maintain a consistent writing style across various materials
- Collaborates with the training team to develop and update training materials, tutorials, and other knowledge resources for end-users
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of a document repository and knowledge management system to facilitate easy access and retrieval of technical documentation
- Supports project managers in tracking documentation deliverables, milestones, and deadlines, and ensure timely completion of all documentation tasks
Required:
Education and/or Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years of experience in technical documentation, quality assurance, control, management, or IT service management (significant education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree)
Desired:
ITIL 4 Foundation Certification or Higher
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in a DevSecOps or similar technology-focused environment
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality documentation on time
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to quickly grasp and explain complex technical concepts
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, customer-focused environment
- Must be a self-starter, strong leader, and be able to work independently with little supervision
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) or other word-processing and desktop publishing software applications
Desired Skills:
Experience with USCENTCOM and be familiar with its mission Knowledge of USCENTCOM’s products and services, customer requirements, purpose and structure of required documentation, and end user’s level of understanding
Clearance And Travel Requirements:
Active Secret Clearance required 10% or less travel

The likely salary range for this position is $79,050 - $106,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
