We're looking for a brilliant Lead Product and UX Writer to help us develop our product communications framework. You will work within the Product team and closely with brand and marketing to define how we nurture ongoing customer engagement with GoHenry.

You’ll work both strategically and tactically with product ‘stacks’ (teams) to increase customer engagement by helping create and refine customer journeys. You’ll help take new features to market and be an integral part of developing communications shared via push, email and through in-app stories to build highly engaged customer relationships.

You’ll help Product lay the foundations for how we communicate with our customers. You’ll work with our brand team in the UK and US to evolve our tone of voice to talk to parents, kids or teens in simple, concise and engaging language that’s easy to understand.

Your UX writing experience

  • You can condense complex ideas into a very small space and still make things crystal clear, guiding the user and helping them complete their desired actions. A keen eye for detail is essential. You’ll be responsible for all the text the user encounters when navigating their way around our product.
  • Your role covers the entire product lifecycle. You’ll nurture, introduce, drive uptake and ongoing engagement with our products. Telling simple, relevant stories to inspire and nudge people into action.
  • You’re able to adapt messages so they’re engaging and easy to understand for children of different ages or reassuring and trustworthy for parents and relatives. Understanding the most appropriate tone for each situation makes a big difference.
  • In addition to writing new copy, you’ll carry out regular analysis and health checks on existing copy to proactively suggest improvements. Is the current product copy guiding the user or frustrating them? Does it need some minor tweaking, or is a complete overhaul in order?

What we’re looking for

You’ll be able to demonstrate a number of years experience crafting copy for consumer-facing mobile products. You’ll be comfortable writing short-form copy for CRM communications as well as creating the occasional insight piece on financial matters for parents and kids alike.

  • Highly proficient in English (British English or American English).
  • 5 years+ work experience as a product writer, copywriter or UX writer.
  • Proactive and collaborative, able to work independently without a lot of oversight.
  • An eye for detail, catching every typo and grammatical error.
  • Experience working in Agile or Lean product team.
  • Experience working within a consumer business (Fintech would be useful).
  • Experience writing push notifications, SMS, and emails.
  • Experience and flexibility to work across multiple product domains such as savings, investment and insurance in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience writing clear and simple copy for in app product journeys as well as content to engage our customers with those new products.
  • An understanding of mobile interaction design and development.
  • Passion for learning about money matters, integrity and energy!

Bonus experience

  • Experience writing for the US market
  • A strong understanding of and interest in financial products and topics
  • Experience writing for children and young people
  • Experience working with Miro, Figma, Asana and Jira
