Established in 2011, we are headquartered in Nashville, TN and serve a client base that spans the nation. Hybrid / Remote Work

After going remote due to the pandemic back in March of 2020, we have made the decision to become a fully remote team with an office hub in Nashville. This means that team members are free to live wherever they would like within the United States with no obligation to go to the office or convene in-person, with the exception of pre-defined company activities such as company retreats, workshops, etc. (when it is safe to bring those back). We do have an office that team members are welcome to use as often or as little as they like. Located in the Terrazzo building in the Gulch (700 12th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37204), we have two dedicated office spaces in addition to a shared co-working space. Culture remains a focus and we will continue our virtual hang outs and look forward to providing monthly, optional in-person events that will allow our team to enjoy each other’s company.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Content Director, the focus of the Creative Content Strategist is in creating and deploying content-based strategic initiatives that align with and accelerate our clients’ business objectives. This person will collaborate with the CEO and Content Director to lead efforts with developing client positioning and messaging, and bringing a visionary approach to brand and campaign development. 

He or she will be in charge of bringing a creative spark to our work and maintaining the established brand voice throughout all our content initiatives, including campaign messaging, website copy, video scripting, editorial calendar and rich content development, and working in tandem with the digital team on ad and social media copy.

This job requires a high-level, right-brained thinker with the ability to generate ideas and think expansively in order to form and communicate a brand’s story. He or she must be able to create a long-term vision for the content that’s generated that goes beyond text-based articles, such as infographics, videos, and multimedia presentations. 

The ideal candidate is curious, imaginative, and a natural storyteller. They’re empathetic and love finding creative solutions to strategic challenges. They obsess over bold creative and media approaches that drive cut-through creative and deliver business results. They can work in a fast-moving and constantly changing environment. They’re inspired by the opportunity to help craft a health tech brand to become widely recognized.

Responsibilities

  • Leading frontline messaging and positioning efforts for clients
  • Facilitating client workshops to gather critical information that guides messaging frameworks
  • Developing storytelling, voice identity and content strategy for clients across channels
  • Diving deep into the strategic work of creating personas, messaging frameworks, buyers’ journey frameworks, content plans, and more
  • Distilling complex and highly technical concepts into simple and compelling messages, while staying relevant to technical or business audiences
  • Creating sophisticated content, including: blog posts, infographics, white papers, manifestos, website content, and other marketing collaterals that meet strategic objectives
  • Creating and maintaining editorial calendars and style guides
  • Maintaining a strong knowledge of SEO best practices to employ across content projects
  • Leading content audits and finding new opportunities to bridge content gaps/update existing client materials
  • Proofreading
  • Analyzing user behavior and interactions with content and implementing changes
  • Interviewing and interacting with subject matter experts for certain content pieces
  • Researching and compiling necessary support for articles and posts

Target Requirements

  • Alignment with our company values
  • Minimum of 3+ years in a content strategist, content manager or similar role
  • Marketing experience, ideally in a B2B tech or healthcare-focused company or agency
  • Established track record of creating successful marketing content from start to finish
  • Ability to build, craft, and execute stories
  • Proven track record of being able to write and edit clean, creative messaging within a distinct brand voice, for diverse audiences
  • Authoritative copyediting skills (AP style)
  • Creativity in problem-solving
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Capacity to handle pressure, such as multiple projects with aggressive deadlines all at the same time
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of accuracy, creativity, and follow-through
  • Skilled at working efficiently with cross-functional teams
  • Time management skills and ability to balance speed with accuracy
  • Experience with digital research and vetting sources
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems, like WordPress
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Experience using social media for business
  • Both a team player and able to work autonomously
