Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 7 years of experience in program management, planning, and cross-functional team management

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in national-level government or with regulators and/or policymakers
  • Experience creating, commissioning, leading, or guiding the creation of compelling and informative data visualizations
  • Experience managing external creative agencies or consulting firms and structuring programs and/or content with global scale
  • Ability to work well as part of a team, communicate effectively with various audiences, including technical partners, and operate well within ambiguous environments/emerging issues
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Passion for emerging technology policy topics, including content moderation, consumer protection, misinformation/disinformation, privacy, security, and data protection

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

The Regulatory Transparency team within Trust and Safety was established to increase transparency and engagement with regulators, policymakers, and other key opinion formers regarding key threats impacting information security, user protection, and trust. In this role, you will stay informed about the regulatory landscape, industry trends, and internal operations across the company, communicating solution-based recommendations to executives. You'll also drive innovative solutions for regulatory transparency at scale.

A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Use regulatory and policy requirements to create robust, scalable, and educational programs that demonstrate our compliance work across multiple products.
  • Collaborate with Trust and Safety, Government Affairs and Public Policy, Legal, Product, Marketing, and Communications teams to develop content that promotes insight and understanding of key technologies and processes for issues.
  • Create compelling, substantive experiences of content responsibility processes and programs tailored to regulators, policymakers, and key opinion formers, as well as processes for responding to regulatory inquiries.
  • Establish relationships with key partner teams and leverage cross-functional coordination to drive program objectives.
  • Explain complex ideas to audiences with varying levels of expertise.
