  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing including writing technical customer-facing materials.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Technical Lead for a large, complex documentation project.

  • Experience with or interest in working with Kubernetes.
  • Experience or interest with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.

Technical writers communicate complex information clearly, concisely and accurately, and without relying on jargon. As a technical writer, your role involves tasks such as writing conceptual overviews and procedures, reading and writing example code, or updating help center queries and FAQs. Technical writers play a big part at Google. They are a key link between engineers, marketing associates, developer advocates, as well as all the external users and developers, tying together many vital but disparate parts of the Google ecosystem.

You develop complex, in-depth communications for internal and external audiences and manage projects that involve coordinating multiple junior writers.

Anthos enables customers to manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters and workloads running on virtual machines across environments.

In this role, you'll work closely with Engineering, Product, and other cross-functional team members to help users reach their technology and business goals by producing and curating content helping customers leverage the power of Anthos to manage cluster-based workloads in other (e.g., non-Google) cloud environments.

You'll cover concepts, tutorials, quickstarts, and more. As the product grows and changes, you'll update and refactor documentation while helping ensure a seamless content strategy across your content, our core Anthos content and other Google Cloud content.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, write and publish external cloud Anthos technical documentation, including concepts, tutorials, quickstarts, and more.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to manage and prioritize the technical writing workload.
  • Communicate effectively, establish work processes and strategies, organize workgroups, manage expectations, and report status across teams.
