Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in researching and writing technical documentation, including customer-facing materials
  • Experience in technical writing, product documentation, or online publishing
  • Experience working with source code written in C++, Python, and/or JavaScript

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with authentication and authorization systems or certificate management
  • Experience researching and writing accurate, clear, and concise documentation for engineers

The Identity Platform team strives to make identity seamless for developers so they can deliver personalized experiences for Google Account users across products. We also work across the organization to engage and contribute on product initiatives.


  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, User Experience, and Legal teams to design the documentation structure and information architecture for our software development toolkit (SDK).
  • Educate developers, breaking down complex identity concepts and capabilities into clear and understandable documentation.
  • Work with User Experience and Product Management to understand, map, and describe customer identity journeys into step-by-step guides.
  • Plan and create a documentation strategy to help developers create consistent API reference documents and definitions. 
  • Design and organize documentation sets for APIs and developer products.
