Job description

Our client is looking for a motivated person who is excited by the opportunity to work on a unique project – reviewing their codes and guidance notes and wider content, to deliver them into a new digital platform.

Our client wants to ensure that they are maximising the opportunities to engage with those in public finance. To do this they are undertaking a review and updating their technical knowledge, support, and expertise across 3 main income streams. An initiative to modernise three successful but historic Services – into a single digital-first practitioner tool for subscribers. The role will be pivotal in the success of how the information is designed, delivered, and presented to its end users. The post requires strong collaborative working across the company so that they use expertise and resources to maximum effect.

The successful candidate will be joining an inclusive and supportive team comprising a mix of finance and policy professionals. You will work directly within the Connect project team and align with the Policy and Technical Advisors delivering BAU for our client.

You will be required to communicate and influence in a straightforward, honest, and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles to maximise understanding and impact, and ensuring communication has a clear purpose. With practical experience working in a content design role you will bring your expertise on how existing information should be bought forward and developed into a more accessible format. Making the information tangible, easy to navigate and reviewing ways in which the written word can be demonstrated in a digital format; visually, with audio, tables, and graphics etc.

The role involves:

  • Lead content design and review content to make sure it’s relevant and matches their style guide.
  • Develop effective, accessible content based on the needs of their users and organisational priorities.
  • Develop content plans in line with their plans and demonstrate leadership in the Content Design field.
  • Understand and address the differing needs of their users.
  • Scope, commission, write, edit and publish content using tools such as Articulate, Storyline and Rise.
  • Make sure appropriate policy and accuracy checks happen
  • Produce content assets that are accurate, timely, high quality and to style.
  • Develop and manage relationships -both within JRF, JRHT and with external stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with subject matter experts to make sure content is accurate.
  • Provide constructive evaluation to improve everyone’s skills and impact.

You will have:

  • Ability to understand users, identify who they are and what their needs are, based on evidence, and propose design approaches or services to meet these needs. 
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to write, structure content clearly, and implement style and standards. 
  • Ability to make complex language and processes easy to understand. 
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritise and plan own workload effectively 
  • Ability to build relationships across departments at all levels, including those within public finance roles 
  • Experience in reading, interpreting, and presenting analytics to support evidence-based decision-making. 
  • Working knowledge of accessibility best practice 
  • An understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques 
  • Experience in creating content concepts and prototyping. 
  • Working knowledge of Agile project management methodology and techniques. 
  • Experience in using Content Management Systems (CMS) and core web technologies
  • A demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and how this relates to the role 
  • A commitment to personal development. 
  • Experience using Markdown or basic HTML
  • Experience of Drupal 7and Drupal 9 (JRF and JRHT sites).
