About the Role:

We are seeking a talented, motivated and leadership driven Chinese Copywriter and Content Strategist. You have high standards and a tradition of excellence. Your conceptual abilities are matched by your love of ideas and words that inspire and move customers and minds. You know the difference between writing for a novel from writing for advertising from writing for social media. You have worked with, or aspire to work with, leading brands and companies in a variety of media from traditional to digital to social. You have a marketing brain but are an artist at heart. You are able to present your ideas in a compelling and persuasive way. You are conversant in English and can use that fluency to your advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand and Campaign Strategy:
    • Support in the creation of branding and campaign strategies, creative concepts, and directions.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver impactful campaigns.
    • Assist in developing media relations strategies and managing media outreach to elevate brand visibility.
  • Creative Advertising Copywriting:
    • Develop creative ad concepts and copy in Simplified and Traditional Chinese, aligned with brand values and campaign objectives.
    • Craft messages that inspire, engage, and drive campaign performance for use in traditional, digital, and social environments.
    • Write and draft content for social platforms including WeChat, RED, Meta, and others, tailored to audience sensibilities.
    • Ensure content resonates with the target audience while maintaining brand consistency.
    • Back-translate Chinese copy into English for non-Chinese clients.
  • Relationship and Project Management
    • Identify influencer campaign opportunities and coordinate with influencers.
    • Develop influencer campaign briefs that align with brand objectives and oversee execution.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners to support campaign success.
    • Act as the point of contact for Chinese-language media collaborations.
    • Support campaign production processes by collaborating with clients, creative teams, and media partners.
    • Ensure timely delivery and alignment with client objectives and expectations.
  • Qualifications:
    • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in creative agencies, media environments, or in-house marketing teams on the client side.
    • Exceptional writing skills in both Simplified & Traditional Chinese.
    • Proven experience in advertising, content creation, or social media strategy.
    • Live and breathe social media (WeChat, RED, Douyin, Meta etc.), staying updated on the latest trends, algorithms, and audience behaviors.
    • Experience working with influencers and managing influencer campaigns, from ideation to execution.
    • Ability to develop creative concepts and align them with strategic objectives.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Fluent in both Chinese and English, with the ability to communicate effectively across languages and cultural contexts.

Job Type:

Full-time, Permanent

Remuneration:

$50,000 - $58,000 depending on experience
