🥳 Perspectives 2022 is here! Our content design careers festival Join us!

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team. At Hasura we think that developer experience is a critical part of the product, and great documentation is essential to great developer experience. Your role will involve writing and maintaining excellent documentation about GraphQL and Hasura to help developers and companies achieve success with these technologies.

GraphQL is changing the way developers & teams are building software today. Hasura GraphQL Engine is an open-source tool that makes it fast and easy to compose a GraphQL API for secure data access across a range of data sources and existing GraphQL and REST APIs. This approach empowers application developers to rapidly create and iterate their applications thanks to the flexibility of GraphQL and automation of toilsome considerations like security, performance, resource footprint, and scalability.

Hasura is being adopted by developers in startups as well as some of the largest Fortune 500 companies. We are excited to be at the intersection of two major ecosystem trends that will have a profound impact on development workflows going forward and we are looking for amazing people who are as excited as we are to join us on this journey!

What the role will involve:

  • Author and edit guides focused on educating developers on how to build with GraphQL and Hasura. Create deep technical content that helps teams migrate to Hasura and GraphQL.
  • Support product teams in creating excellent reference documentation.
  • Document new features in collaboration with Hasura engineers, as well as maintain and improve existing documentation.
  • Work closely with the product teams to understand Hasura, the new features being worked on, and the engineering decisions and tradeoffs. Be able to communicate the same to the Hasura community and customers through documentation.
  • Work closely with the developer relations and community team on content and resources.
  • Be a part of the GraphQL & Hasura community and help to grow it.

  • Strong writing and editorial skills for developer-focused documentation.
  • Software engineering experience with web APIs and frontends.
  • Good understanding of software engineering fundamentals since software engineers are a key audience for our documentation.
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams including engineering, design, product management, developer relations, and marketing.
  • Very good written & spoken communication skills in English.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for team offsite events
  • Being organized & communicating proactively.
  • Prior experience in a technical writing role or experience with similar roles/responsibilities.
