Job description
As a Content Designer at Hilton, you’ll design content that meets the needs of our guests at every part of the customer journey. Working closely with the Marketing, Customer and Technology teams, you’ll work on creating, optimising and delivering evidence-based content that’s readable and measurable across our digital channels. This can involve working on a single piece of content or on an end-to-end journey. You’ll work in multidisciplinary teams to design how people find, understand, access and use products and services while considering how the right content is used in the right places.
In this role, you’ll:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for digital content creation and design capabilities
- Understand human-centric design principles and ensure content meets the needs of Hilton's guests
- Design content that reflects our Hilton values, across 19 world-class brands and 7,160 properties using styles guides and standards
- Use data and evidence to understand Hilton’s guests, who they are and what their needs are
- Gain insights from qualitative and quantitative data, and use those insights to make informed content decisions
- Influence the product development cycle by acting as an advocate for Hilton’s guests when making content decisions
- Design content concepts and prototypes to visualise your work in context to show stakeholders proposed content
- Work closely and communicate clearly with Marketing, Customer and Technology stakeholders to design experiences that inspire our guests to dream, shop and stay with Hilton
- Use content management systems to publish content, understand the importance of content lifecycle management and apply a continuous improvement mindset to your work
- Document content standards and develop best practices that empower on-property Team Members to maintain and update content under a self-service model
- Understand the importance of accessibility, diversity and inclusion within content design
- Work in a collaborative and creative environment where paired writing sessions and critiquing content is encouraged and expected
- Work closely with our Content Development and Content Services partners to maintain a healthy content ecosystem
Skills needed:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- At least 2 years experience as a content designer, UX writer, content strategist, digital content executive or marketing executive
- Strong copywriting / UX writing / content strategy skills, tailored to the needs of the audience as well as both long-form and short-form content
- An understanding of agile methodology, applying an iterative and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery
- A keen eye for consistency and quality
- Experience in researching, designing, and testing content experiences as part of multi-disciplinary teams
- The ability to work with analytics and content metrics such as readability, qualitative research, and digital analytics to help solve problems pragmatically
- Proficiency in content management systems
- The ability to advocate for content design and help others understand its value
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills and an ability to influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines
