The Sr. Web Content Specialist will author, review and optimize marketing content. This position resides within the Web and eComm Team of Corporate Marketing. As part of the team, you will join a talented, energetic group of digital marketing professionals dedicated to delivering the best possible experience for our site visitors. In this role, you will leverage data, research, and your understanding of visitor goals to shape website narrative and create content experiences tailored to our target audiences. Your work truly matters in this role by ensuring that the best content is delivered suited to visitor needs while delivering against content conversion goals.

  • Author new web pages aligned to strategic SEO opportunities defined by our Content Strategist
  • Author and collaborate with stakeholders during the review and revision process to reach finalized web copy
  • Provide content strategy for content placement and content crosslinking
  • Recommend strategic content to stakeholders that are already available, in process of creation, or do not yet exist
  • Optimize existing web pages for increased KPI and conversion performance including page views, SERP ranking, form completion, lead generation, content consumption and revenue attribution
  • Audit content across our marketing website that is aligned to strategic visitor segments.
  • Recommend targeted content experiences to visitor segments via Adobe Target
  • Assist with the creation of new behavioral-based visitor segments
  • Edit the work of other writers or freelancers within Global Marketing

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of equivalent experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities
  • Scientific background with an understanding of genetic sequencing technology a plus
  • Understanding of core usability best practices
  • Outstanding copywriting ability
  • Experience with SEO keyword research tools like MOZ and Google Keyword Planner
  • Ability to author compelling and engaging copy for end-users
  • Solid understanding of AMA Manual of Style
  • Basic / Intermediate HTML skills
  • Familiar with enterprise content management systems
  • Experience writing copy for a regulated industry
  • Understanding of web analytics a plus (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)
  • A/B Testing experience is a plus
  • Must understand the proper use of fonts, graphics, templates, and style sheets.
  • English proficiency, attention to publications standards, and excellent grammatical and editorial skills are required.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to successfully manage multiple projects from concept to publication under tight deadlines and with minimal oversight

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in biology, molecular biology, genetics, or other life science field
Salary range USD $45+ hourly
