Job description

IntelliBridge is an award-winning national security company looking for a Content Designer to support our contract with USCIS. Content designers at IntelliBridge collaborate with client stakeholders, strategists, visual designers, and developers to deliver user-centered content for specific audiences. Starting from the premise that good content is easy to understand and meets people where they are, our content designers go far beyond copywriting. They work with customers and partners to craft strategies for creating, managing, and publishing content across channels, from webpages and blogs to social media. They work with strategists and user experience designers to lead or support audience research and user-centered writing. And they work with visual designers and developers to craft compelling content experiences.

Responsibilities/Duties:  

Support content design and strategy

  •  Collaborate with stakeholders, including subject matter experts, consumer engagement strategists, and content managers, to maximize the impact of content. 
  • Identify user and organizational needs through formal interviews, informal conversations, contextual inquiry, workshops, and analytics research. 
  • Conduct exercises such as content audits, content inventories, comparative analyses, and gap analyses, and offer strategic insights and recommendations to improve content performance based on what you discover. 
  • Outline and implement plans for creating, optimizing, and repurposing content across various formats, using performance data to make decisions about future content. 
  • Navigate complex organizational relationships, coordinating with strategists and other agency stakeholders in day-to-day campaign execution, reporting, editorial goal setting and prioritization. 

Deliver high-quality, user-centered content across a variety of channels. 

  • Create and deploy clear, accessible, and concise content for various audiences and across all digital outlets, including the agency’s website, blog, and social media channels. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to review and edit content, spotting errors in spelling and grammar and enforcing appropriate tone, voice, and other style guidelines for the agency’s target audiences. 
  • Work with stakeholders to evolve their style where appropriate, and create documentation in the form of templates and guidelines to ensure content types maintain consistent levels of style, tone, and messaging. 
  • Work in government hosted environments to stage content, conduct quality assurance (QA), and evaluate content against basic 508 compliance and accessibility principles. 
  • Coordinate production of design assets, including but not limited to social media graphics, web graphics, infographics, and multimedia, and coordinate with content managers to ensure timely publication of content assets. 
  • Manage multiple projects, and programs, and shift priorities to complete high-quality work against strict and sometimes conflicting deadlines. 

Contribute to the continued success of the content discipline at IntelliBridge. 

  • Continually promote IntelliBridge’s way of working by making a strong case for iterative, user-centered content design on every project. 
  • Contribute to team-wide resources and training materials, including tutorials, guides, presentations, and content toolkits. 
  • Recognize when practices or processes are inconsistent or no longer serve the team, and recommend a way forward to improve effectiveness or efficiency. 
  • Share your work in an unfinished state and give peer feedback in weekly critique sessions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Information Technology field focusing on projects and UX Design specifically.
  • Experience with architecture & design experience, including at least three (3) years of experience providing UX Design expertise for enterprise applications on AWS.
  • 3-5+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across various audiences and content types are a must. 
  • Ability to spot errors in spelling or grammar with a keen eye for style and tone based on the target audience.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and creatively while offering insight and recommendations to improve content performance. Ability to use content performance data to make decisions about future content.
  • Ability to outline and implement plans for creating, optimizing, and repurposing content across various formats.
  • Coordinating with Stakeholders and teammates in day-to-day campaign execution and reporting.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced and professional publishing environment while effectively managing multiple programs and shifting priorities to complete high-quality work against strict and sometimes conflicting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • HTML knowledge or editing experience is a plus. 
  • Experience with Atlassian products including Jira and Confluence is preferred.
  • Experience with DHS/USCIS documents and workspaces is preferred.
  • Experience performing iteratively, in Agile environments is ideal. Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is even better.
