Why We Need You – The Mission:

IPRO software combines best-in-class information governance and eDiscovery software with predictive analytics to offer the most open and effective solution to data challenges. IPRO transforms the EDRM and thinking “upstream”, we bring insight far earlier into processes, enabling organizations to change the way they interact with their data, eliminate waste, and reduce risk.

As a Technical Writer on our Documentation team, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining high-quality technical documentation for our software products. You will be an integral part of the product team and will write content to assist both system administrators and end users to complete their day-to-day work in our system. Documentation deliverables you will create include online Help content, learning center curriculum, release notes, and other presentation materials.

What You’ll Accomplish - Your Performance Objectives:

Objective #1:

Within your first 3 months, you will be able to create/modify/publish documentation in at least one IPRO product, with a solid understanding of fundamental documentation processes.

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of at least one IPRO product, including core concepts and basic workflows, by earning a user certification in that product.
  • Develop a comfortable grasp of the documentation architecture associated with that project, and become familiar with our Flare ecosystem as a whole (e.g. learning about other active Flare projects, knowing how we use source control systems such as GitLab to push and pull changes, etc.)
  • Learn to work mostly autonomously in the specified Flare project, creating new documentation, updating existing articles, and publishing to our Help Center.
  • Design and deliver e-learning content for IPRO’s learning center (using tools like Captivate, PowerPoint with audio overlay, Flare, and Skilljar).

Objective #2:

Within your first 6 months, you will have gained an advanced understanding of at least one IPRO product, with additional insight/familiarity with at least one other product.

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of one additional IPRO product, including core concepts and basic workflows, by earning a user certification in that product.
  • Develop connections with multiple stakeholders throughout the company, with the ability to interface comfortably depending on documentation needs.
  • Independently design, develop, and deliver process-oriented, workflow-based content for your assigned product. Able to work mostly autonomously in a secondary Flare project.

Additionally, the Technical Writer will participate in the following processes within their first 12 months:

  • Develop Context-Sensitive Help, such as Pendo guides, to supplement our standard product documentation.
  • Collaborate with product and development teams to provide feedback on product features, UI verbiage, and external documentation.
  • Participate in strategy meetings with writers and other content developers to discuss the roadmap for long-term projects.
  • Be willing to engage with IPRO personnel (customer success managers, support, product managers, developers) to build content that is technically accurate and contextually relevant to our users.
  • Contribute to internal documentation around technical writing best practices.

Who We’re Looking For – The Personal Competencies That Matter:

Technical chops – We need to know that we can lean on you to produce effective, engaging Help documentation on a deadline. This requires having the ability to quickly master the nuances and complexities of our products and rapidly adapt to changes. The ideal candidate would have 2+ years of technical writing experience in a fast-paced software environment. Experience working in the Information Governance and/or eDiscovery fields is a plus.

Collaboration and relationship-building – We want someone with the ability to quickly establish rapport with team members and stakeholders throughout the company. You feel comfortable reaching out with questions, seeking further clarity, and providing feedback and support when needed.

Balanced (short and long-term) – You thrive in a multi-tasking role. You are just as comfortable crafting workflow-based documentation as you are peer-reviewing content and designing lessons for the Learning Center. You excel at keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, maintaining time management, doing what it takes to deliver reliable results, and retaining good communication with the rest of the team.

Growth Mindset – You enjoy the process of getting better at what you do, and you seek out the feedback that improves your ability to learn from your experiences. You are tech savvy and able to learn new technology quickly.

Dig Deep – Accountable for delivering on your own commitments to our customers, colleagues, and team. Own your part and work together to deliver.

Keep it real – Display integrity and transparency. Graciously accept feedback and deliver it respectfully and always assume the best intentions.

Enjoy the ride – Wherever you are, be all there. You should have fun working at IPRO!
