Job Summary

As a Content Designer you’ll work on the end-to-end customer journey of a task or job that our education users complete, using our cloud platforms. You know about Agile methodology and can apply an agile mindset to all aspects of your work. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with taking some risks to enable rapid delivery.

You’ll be creating, updating and reviewing content around the user journey. You’ll be adept at using evidence (data) and research to inform decisions and change things for the better. As an integral member of the Product team, you’ll also be instrumental in developing existing, and composing new content to, guide and support our users to get the best experience from our software.

This role requires excellent writing skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with stakeholders. You’ll work autonomously and know how to create effective content for digital channels. The successful candidate will be someone that is experienced in creating user content, including, technical authoring, creative text/pop up content/video content/screen grabs etc., all designed to assist in the user journey. 

A significant part of the role will involve creating in-app engagements with Gainsight PX and a focus on:

  • creating great UI copy and influencing key interactions on the user journey
  • authoring and publishing product content/online help
  • managing in-app engagements using a digital adoption platform


  •  Built strong relationships with the existing Product team
  • Fully understand the existing products in order to develop a prioritise plan towards content creation
  • Own the content design journey
  • Create great UI copy and influencing key interactions on the user journey

  • Create and deliver product release training
  • Provide Help and documentation for all projects and software releases, using authoring tools and media provided
  • Plan and organise own workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Attend briefing meetings to gain more detailed understanding, where appropriate and liaise with product / legislation experts and Support / Sales / Marketing / Professional Services to ensure the documentation produced is aimed at the correct audience
  • Research, gather and analyse product information and translate into a format suitable for our customers
  • Assist with training, sales and other customer facing artefacts as required and create and own documentation processes

Daily tasks may include

  • Discussing authoring requirements with colleagues and the related technology
  • Determining the organisation and presentation of the documentation
  • Creating illustrations and examples as required
  • Creating clear and concise documentation that can be easily understood by the target audience
  • Editing and proofreading documentation, including from other departments
  • Testing user documentation with internal stakeholders and our customers


  • Previous technical authoring / technical writing experience essential
  • Experience of producing UI copy is essential
  • Ability to create technically based user documentation
  • Understanding of industry standard Authoring Tools
  • Creating visually attractive documentation
  • Writing in a verbally consistent tone and style using your editorial judgement
  • Possessing good numeracy and analytical skills to accurately present examples to the targeted audience
  • Ability to deliver to defined deadlines
  • Have an awareness of the processes involved in online publishing
  • Enquiring mind with an accurate and a methodical approach to work along with an excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work successfully on own and as part of a team
  • Experience across Microsoft suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience of working within a similar or related software industry
