Job description
The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for data-driven content strategy to drive optimal user experience and achieve Jackson's business goals. The responsibilities of this position include working with cross-functional teams and external partners to develop engaging, content-based solutions by leveraging resources and capabilities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develops, implements and manages content strategy that is aligned with short-term and long-term marketing targets, reputation management, thought leadership and is highly resonant with target audiences.
- Collaborates with both internal and external resources to help initiate, drive, design and implement a wide-range of content across multiple media and distribution channels to support Jackson business.
- Implements a variety of projects to drive the growth, brand awareness and positioning strategies of the Jackson business.
- Establishes and manages expectations of external partners, including the responsibility of setting reasonable timelines and expectations to ensure overall service and quality while meeting cross-functional objectives.
- Ensures content delivers against company goals and industry standards.
- Delivers a high volume of materials in a timely and efficient manner.
- Analyzes current financial, variable annuity, and mutual funds industry trends to develop coinciding content.
- Researches and provides sources for marketing content focused on subjects including market trends, annuities, taxes, alternative investing.
- Provides cost justification for new initiatives.
- Liaise with content writers, creative services and external agencies to ensure brand consistency.
- Optimizes content according to SEO best practices.
- Ensures accuracy of statements and data in compliance with regulations and law (e.g. copyright and data protection).
- Collaborates across business functions including operations, sales, product and customer service.
- Proactively provides engagement data and insights that illustrate opportunities and achievements/gains.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to collaborate and gain consensus from internal and external stakeholders, while managing expectations.
- Ability to manage external agencies/independent contractors.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex financial industry issues into highly resonant content.
- Knowledge of content creation, content marketing strategies and the financial services industry.
- Knowledge of SEO, web content optimization, digital advertising, social media, metrics and analytics, marketing automation, and content management software.
- Experience leveraging technology to enhance user experience (personalization, surveys, A/B testing, etc.)
- Proven ability to collaborate on complex projects with cross-functional teams and to deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate in all forms to a variety of audiences.
- Proven ability to follow company and regulatory policies and procedures
- Outstanding organization and project management skills to ensure tight deadlines are met both internally and externally.
- Highly developed analytic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability in defining and undertaking work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Evidence of good judgment, creativity, inquisitiveness, and perseverance in past work or educational experience.
- Ability to collect, analyze, manipulate and synthesize complex data.
- Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours for deployments and site QA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications, English or similar field of study required.
- 5+ years Content Marketing experience required.
- Financial services industry experience preferred.
