The Digital Content Manager holds an interest in building a brand identity and online presence through the creation and dissemination of multimedia content targeting an interior design audience.  The San Francisco Design Center (SFDC) is the leading interior design and home furnishings destination in the West located in the SOMA district.  An acknowledged industry leader, SFDC is home to 100 showrooms featuring more than 2,000 manufacturers of interior design resources.  

This individual will provide communications support to the Design Center and its tenant showrooms by contributing to internal and external communications efforts and field marketing activities, leading the development and delivery of critical project deliverables. The ideal candidate is a highly detail-oriented professional who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment and successfully manage multiple priorities and deadlines.  This full-time, onsite role will report to the Director of Marketing and work closely with the Property Management team. 

JOB DUTIES

  • Contribute to and drive communication plans, programs and activities that support SFDC and its tenant showrooms
  • Plan, edit format, and write content for a variety of internal and external communication mediums, including intranet or email communications, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and other social media platforms
  • Maintain a content marketing calendar that schedules all aspects of creation and delivery throughout the year utilizing programs such as Social Sprout
  • Create SFDC’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media and digital marketing campaigns, such as targets for certain number of shares or likes and measuring campaign performances against the KPIs
  • Provide monthly reporting identifying marketing outreach analytics and target group responses
  • Organically grow social media following and outreach
  • Design graphics for internal and external communications such as building signage, eblasts, social media posts, etc. utilizing Photoshop and Canva
  • Maintain consistency in communication messages across all mediums and for various departments of the organization
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders
  • Assist with managing mailing lists, distributing, and tracking engagement of internal and external communications
  • Research social media trends and current best practices in the industry to keep SFDC ahead in its market
  • Maintain SFDC website and update content using WordPress
  • Coordinate with website partner on SEO optimization
  • Format and distribute internal and external communications on behalf of property tenants
  • Ensure ongoing innovation and compliance with brand standards, while maintaining the SFDC brand and analyze its position in the market
  • Stay up to date with trends in the interior design industry
  • Work closely with the Director of Marketing to execute SFDC marketing goals and program initiatives
  • Participate and strengthen relationships with design trade and industry organizations to solicit participation and host industry events
  • Partner with the property management team to achieve key leasing goals and objectives
  • Track and submit marketing department accounts payable invoices
  • Assist in the planning and production of property programs and events
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment at all times
  • Any additional duties as assigned

SKILLS AND APTITUDES

  • Detailed knowledge of current online tools and marketing trends
  • Experience successfully managing several projects involving internal clients, external partners, and high-level business concepts simultaneously
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing channels and tactics, including events, experiences, promotions, social media and traditional and digital marketing
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in copywriting and proofreading
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Photoshop, Mailchimp or other email marketing services, Sprout Social or other social media management solutions
  • Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and experience applying those to websites and digital programs
  • Thinks creatively to resolve all customer concerns, and anticipate their interests in services, amenities, programs and events           
  • Self-starter, motivated, takes initiative, and anticipates needs of others

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism
  • Minimum of three-five years in B2C marketing, including digital and retail marketing experience
  • Previous community involvement or networking experience in design industry and luxury/premium brands is preferred
  • Interest in working independently as well as with ownership, property management and JLL Regional Management
