Job description

J&J Design, part of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Manager, Brand & Content Strategist for the Insights & Experience Strategy (IXS) team, located in New York, NY and reporting to the Director, IXS.

J&J Design (JJD) works globally across the Company’s main business segments (Consumer, Pharma, Medical Device and Corporate) designing and optimizing experiences for consumers, employees, healthcare providers and patients.

Candidate Profile

In this new role you will leverage deep subject matter expertise in brand, content and naming to lead programs that will strengthen brands across the J&J portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities

  • You will transform business goals and dense insights into focused and actionable plans to drive forward quickly into implementation
  • You will scope new opportunities to build meaningful briefs and guide successful program direction
  • You have a clear viewpoint that is articulated through a thoughtful approach to achieve strategic results
  • You will cultivate, build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of the organization

As a Brand Strategist, You Will Work To Enhance And Grow Brands Across The J&J Enterprise In Consumer, Pharma, Medical Device And Corporate

  • Synthesize multiple inputs (trends, competitive landscape, marketplace dynamics, cultural context, etc.) to define insights that are the basis for building strategic solutions
  • Collaborate with a range of stakeholders - marketing, design, insights, R&D - towards the shared goals of creating meaningful brand experiences
  • Develop strategic frameworks (Purpose, Positioning, Value Proposition, Personality)
  • Design and/or commission research to best solve for specific brand challenges

As a Content Strategist, you will define brand voice and develop engaging storytelling across multiple touchpoints

  • Develop relevant consumer-centric strategies that will drive intuitive content generation across digital, print, video, web and social
  • Create clear, comprehensive editorial calendars, content style guides and messaging standards for exceptional consumer experience
  • Develop robust and dynamic messaging frameworks across multiple brands and platforms; advance and evolve content through campaign creation, copy, taglines and headlines
  • Balance creative, strategic and trademarking considerations to deliver compelling and viable solutions for naming

Qualifications

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field (Branding, Communications, Journalism) is required; a graduate degree is preferred
  • 8+ years of brand leadership-related experience is required
  • Demonstrated experience in brand strategy, content strategy and naming is required
  • Clear and concise writing, synthesis, speaking and presentation skills are required
  • Preparing and facilitating workshops; crafting insight-rich reports, stories, pitch decks and projects briefs is required
