Technical Writers are an integral part of the rapidly growing Kinesso Solutions Marketing organization. This team is responsible for all global marketing initiatives in support of Kinesso solutions, and works cross-functionally with teams including Product, Engineering, Client Solutions, Brand Marketing, and more to deliver impactful initiatives on behalf of Kinesso.

As a Technical Writer at Kinesso, you will join a small, dynamic team of writers working in an Agile environment to create and maintain user documentation and release notes for a suite of applications in the advertising technology space. This position relies heavily on skills such as project management, attention to detail, and the ability to organize complex technical concepts into clear, concise user guides for various audiences. This demanding and diverse role is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of user guides for multiple products.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Develop, write, and update clear, concise, structured user guides, quick start guides, FAQs, release notes, and other learning and help content for multiple products.
  • Review, edit, and/or re-write material prepared by other writers on an ongoing basis to keep documentation up to date and to our current standard.
  • Proactively identify and address documentation needs as well as ensure the quality, discoverability, and accuracy of the content you create and develop.
  • Regularly communicate with product, support, product marketing, engineering, and other teams about product features, status, and documentation needs.
  • Track product development activities in JIRA.
  • Organize materials and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, terminology, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Contribute to tools and processes that make documentation more accessible, efficient, scalable, and collaborative.

Desired Skills & Experience

You should have:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience writing technical documentation, including release notes, quick start guides, comprehensive user guides, FAQs, use cases, and in-app help.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as strong communication skills.
  • Experience owning documentation for multiple products.
  • Excellent project management skills that enable you to take on the core responsibilities of creating and managing documentation and release notes for multiple products.
  • Experience with Agile software development, Confluence, and developer workflow tools such as JIRA.
  • Strong interviewing skills and comfort interviewing product managers and other subject matter experts, asking the right questions, and translating that knowledge to the documentation.
  • Experience structuring content for ease of comprehension and communicating complex concepts in a clear, concise manner for technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to work both on a team and independently.
  • Ability to work with remote teams and surmount language, cultural, and time zone differences.
  • Keen ability to work in a non-linear manner within and among projects, prioritize, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Passion for technical challenges—you like to tinker with new products to see how they work and explain them to others.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and excellent attention to detail while seeing the big picture.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience in marketing and ad tech
  • Experience with SaaS
