  • Edit, standardize, and make changes to material prepared by other writers on a variety of technical publications and engineering CDRL deliveries.
  • You will have to take and generate meeting minutes.
  • Assist in writing and editing technical documentation to include: training device descriptions, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair parts listings.
  • You will need to interpret engineering documentation to include mechanical and electrical drawings. Interact with hardware, electrical, and software engineers during document preparation.
  • You will provide inputs to graphic illustrators to generate artwork for inclusion in technical documentation.
  • Review manufacturer's catalogs, drawings, and other data relative to the operation, maintenance, and service of equipment.
  • Lastly, you will maintain records and files of work and revisions.  


  • Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users.
  • Produces products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.
  • Developing professional expertise, applying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
  • Normally receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
  • Other job duties as assigned.


Experience and Skills


  • Candidate must know MIL-STD-40051-2C Page-based technical manuals (Arbortext) 40051C DTD, FOSI, and XSL-formatting object stylesheets MS Office Suite
  • Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements.
  • Communicate and interact effectively with hardware, electrical, and software engineers. 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job. 

Preferred Skill Set:

  • XML experience


  • Typically requires an Associate's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience


  • Office and open cubical environment.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones).
