The Sr. UX Writer leads collaboration with Product Designers to create engaging and intuitive experiences across different product verticals on Driveway.com.
The Sr. UX Writer reports to the Manager of Content Design.
Responsibilities
- Help champion UX Writing as a growing discipline on the Content Design team and within Driveway
- Translate product requirements into clear and actionable user-centric copy
- Work with design, product, and engineering to write accessible and strategic UX copy for a diverse set of users
- Help prioritize research opportunities for future testing and monitoring
- Lead opportunities to establish, align, and test UX nomenclature
- Collaborate with Product Designers to create simplified microcopy and labeling for complex products
- Communicate across multiple verticals to ensure proper prioritization of work
- Write using industry best practices for inclusivity and accessibility across multiple platforms
- Work with design, product, and engineering to create words that guide product experiences
- Lead discussions about how to align nomenclature across Driveway
- Help support the growth and mentorship of UX Writers
- Collaborate with researchers and apply user insights to inform copy direction
Skills and Qualifications
- At least 4-7 years of content strategy, editorial, and product writing experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- A portfolio of technical product writing and best-in-class labeling, UI copy, and hierarchical content strategy
- Demonstrated ability to communicate your ideas to a diverse set of stakeholders
- A strong understanding of how to facilitate collaboration between UX Writers and Product Designers
- Exceptional communication skills and a knack for uniting different stakeholders
- A record of turning complex product requirements into simple copy
- Empathetic and self-aware. You can read a room and sense when something is wrong, right, or just “off.”
- Team-focused and collaborative. You love developing relationships across disciplines.
- Communicative and responsive. You listen to understand, not just to talk when it’s your turn.
