Job description

As a Copywriter/Content Strategist, you’ll write engaging, compelling copy and contribute to related content strategies that support Medica’s vision to be the trusted health plan of choice for the communities we serve.

This role helps drive awareness and enrollment of members in new and existing markets through the planning and creation of content for marketing, advertising, and our website.

Areas of responsibility

  • Write copy for use across multiple channels (direct mail, brochures/collateral, social ads, email campaigns (subject lines, preheaders, body copy, CTAs), web/landing pages, magazine headlines, cover blurbs, article copy, etc.) for a variety of audiences that include Medica members, providers, brokers, and employees
  • Collaborate with internal and external marketing partners, creative team members, and user-experience partners to develop compelling, on-brand creative assets
  • Help ensure copy and content quality, accuracy, and alignment to defined business and audience goals as well as to regulatory requirements
  • Edit and proofread copy as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater
  • 5 years of copywriting/content strategy experience
  • 3 years of digital experience preferred
  • Health care experience preferred, but not absolutely necessary
  • Proven experience as a copywriter or in a related role, with demonstrated expertise in writing a wide range of marketing and advertising copy
  • Strong portfolio that showcases copywriting work for a variety of audiences, channels, and platforms

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to translate complex business copy or concepts into clear, simple, engaging messages
  • Experience developing content strategies and writing copy for print/digital ad copy, emails, social ads, direct response marketing materials, and more
  • Understanding of SEO, accessibility, and other digital best practices
  • Experience working in content management systems, marketing automation platforms, and email platforms
  • Experience with project management software such as RoboHead
  • Expert communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Flexible to changing business and creative requirements
  • Highly organized and effective at multitasking
