The Global Communications function is a group of strategists focused on telling our company's story to the world. We are looking for people to join the Global Communications team who are passionate about raising our reputation and having a positive impact on our business and the purpose of using the power of leading-edge science to save and improve lives around the world.
This position serves as the Editor-in-Chief and lead content strategist for Global Communications. The ideal candidate will work across the organization to develop and oversee the execution of the overall communications strategy to support the company’s strategic priorities, effectively tell our story and build the corporate brand.
Oversight of internal and external communications for our owned channels with the ability to work at a strategic and tactical level to manage, create, edit and flight content for an ever-expanding set of channels and platforms including intranet, internal and external social media, corporate website, e-mail, video and more. The Editor-in-Chief will supervise a team of content creators (direct and indirect reports, both full-time employees and contractors) and manage content spanning long-form editorial, campaigns and social content. The Editor-in-Chief will work closely with the Media Relations, Executive Communications and Enterprise Social Media teams to leverage content opportunities consistent with our strategy and narrative.
This position requires a candidate with a discerning eye for a large volume of content and the ability to triage and sequence high-quality communications across a variety of channels. Will require maturity, confidence and emotional intelligence to effectively and professionally support and decline communication requests across the organization. Given the global footprint of the company, this position will need to be knowledgeable of cultural differences that shape communication needs and preferences across regions of the world.
