As a UX Writer, you write concise, well-crafted messaging that supports and helps define large-scale content strategy. In this role, you will collaborate with designers, researchers, writers, and other key business stakeholders to write and test user-focused solutions for a variety of communication channels (email, web, application, etc.) — while maintaining company tone and voice. You’ll help shape how that voice evolves and grows as you help create innovative features and interactions. The UX Writer advocates for the customer and will help shape product experiences by crafting copy that helps users complete the task at hand.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for writing and providing guidance on all the text the user encounters when navigating their way around a product. Be it a website, a mobile app or a piece of software, a copy is crucial in guiding the user and helping them complete their desired actions.
Write clear and concise content across multiple touch points (including labels and navigational elements, emails, tutorials and notifications).
May be required to carry out regular analysis and health checks on existing copies.
Work with UX designers, UI designers, researchers, and information architects to ensure that the layout and copy work harmoniously together. You will collaborate with communication and digital experience teams to create a distinctive brand voice and convey this at every touch point the user goes through.
Excellent communication and teamwork.
Comfort with research and analysis, demonstrate strong problem-solving, a keen eye for detail, and an understanding of branding and general business objectives.
Offer a content strategy perspective throughout the product development process and influence strategic decisions across and within products to improve the overall experience and ensure consistency across platforms.
Collaborate with the cross-disciplinary design team to conceptualize and champion the importance of user-centered design.
Advocate on behalf of the customer through design thinking and utilizing research findings.
Apply keen attention to detail throughout each step of the creative process.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Writing, Communications, or UX-related field or equivalent years of professional writing experience and 5+ years in UX writing experience.
Excellent writing and editing skills
Excellent communicator with strong presentation skills
Experience writing content for web/mobile products
Experience writing emails, landing pages, or editorial content
Proven ability to collaborate successfully with cross-functional partners
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Portfolio of writing samples
Experience working with IT Service Management is a plus!
